What a change to an already great pub. Just reopened following a major make over and the place is stunning. On the bar is a big selection of beers to suit all tastes, behind the bar is a friendly bunch of characters ready to take your orders for drinks and food. Talking of food, the new menu offers a very...

Someone has really gone to town on the refurbishment of The Jug and Bottle and boy have they succeeded. The fresh look with the wonderfully improved outdoor area, yet retaining the traditions of a warm, comfortable Inn has convinced me that there is now a genuine Local just waiting to be used. I for one will make for the Jug when...

We turned up here thinking we had a booking when we didn't but the staff were outstanding and although they had a room for the first night rang round and found us accommodation for the second night. The manager(?) put it against his own credit card to hold the booking. The restaurant was excellent, but the staff made what might...

Would highly recommend. We had a lovely lunch here. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Brought our golden Retriever a bowl of water without asking and some dog biscuits. Food was great. Good selection. Looking forward to seeing the refurbishments.

Sunday lunch is the best we have had for a long time and we eat out on Sunday every week. Always nice cask beers available. This is a dog friendly pub and apparently does accommodation too. Our...

We, unfortunately, had to express our dissatisfaction at one of the wheat beers being off (I'd had one just before so was aware of how it should taste) and your bar staff and mamagement met us with the most unprofessional, incredulous and outright rude response. Instead of simply offering another alternative, you belittled and trivialised to the point of insult....

Even with all the vast choice of eateries in the area the Jug and Bottle is always our go to place for an evening meal. The food is 'proper' british cuisine and done with care and obvious talent. The steak pie is outstanding, as is the quality of the beer. Highly recommended

After reading fab reviews we decided to treat ourselves for lunch. We knew the manager, Andy (previously from Ellie's a couple of years ago) now runs the J&B - and he is brilliant. The lunch exceeded our expectations. *Everything* (even the side sauce) is fresh and you can see the chefs cooking in front of you. My mum even chatted...

Great traditional pub which we haven't visited for several years. Excellent pint of local Brimstage Trappers Hat. Didnt eat but menu looks good. Will definitely come again soon and eat because there were plenty of diners turning up and many tables reserved.
