Myself and my husband visited overnight for a much needed romantic trip away to relax. We have no family nearby and my mother travelled 200 miles to look after our 6 month old daughter to allow us to spend a night away together. Upon arrival we were greeted with an enormous queue for reception due a cycling event taking place....

We live locally but needed a treat after a tough few weeks and running the Reading Half Marathon on the morning of our visit. On check in there was a problem with our reservation but this was sorted out quickly and very much to our satisfaction as we were upgraded to a lovely suite. The grounds are spectacular and we...

We visited for a family weekend away and had a fantastic time!! The staff were fantastic and so helpful at all times. There was a problem with the heating in two of our rooms on the first night so we were upgraded on the second night to two bigger rooms, one which was a suite! The food was delicious and...

Stayed for one night prior to a Golden Wedding Celebration Lunch. Excellent service and very friendly staff. Our room was not in the main building but was beautifully decorated, warm and had everything that we needed. Due to the location of our room we had to be transported by a buggy which would have been fine if it had not...

A group of us visited to celebrate a 60th birthday. Our group consisted of various ages from 10 years to approx 70 years and each one of us had a fantastic time. The building itself is beautiful, our room was huge, the staff were excellent, service fab and food was to die for.

This hotel is fab. Beautiful location, helpful staff, excellent service. However, the difference between the rooms is ridiculous, you wouldn't think you were even in the same hotel. The courtyard rooms for example are very tired and old. And even with the radiators on full feel cold. Rooms in the main building are beautiful decorated inkeeping with the building. Clean...

I stayed here with my wife for a night, as a treat for our wedding anniversary. Overall our stay was very enjoyable, but it was a mixed bag of good and bad points, so whether I would recommend it really depends on what aspects of a hotel are most important to you. Good points • The house and gardens are...

This is a typical old mansion which is managed very well and has fantastic grounds and gardens. On arrival we were greeted by very welcoming receptionists and were accompanied to our room by a staff member. The room was big with enough space to run around for our toddler. Maybe not super fresh but still classic design of the room...

Just stayed at this hotel for an overnight stay, its within 5 minutes of the M3 and really charming. The decoration of the room is a bit old fashioned, but nothing about it was tired.
