We have been here before for afternoon tea and really enjoyed. I am sorry to say we won't be returning after the last experience. Poor selection of sandwiches which had started to dry up, only one vegetarian selection. And not many of them. Cakes were plentiful but shop bought . Service was near non existent . The tea was topped...

We stayed here on the 16th April 2017 for one night and it was good value for money. I looked at quite a few hotels in the area and this one caught my eye. The room was very clean and well presented and I must say we wasn't disturbed at all. In fact through the night there were no disturbances...

Attended here with my walking group for lunch. The hotel was told we were coming. Waited to have our orders taken only to be told we had to order at the bar. Waited ages to be served and when it came the chips were cold and the peas were cold and hard. Actually went to look for a staff member...

Dear Cymru_Bagpuss, Many thanks for taking the time to review your recent visit to the Ashburnham Hotel for Lunch. We are disappointing to read that your visit was not up to our usual standard & the food was cold. I can assure you if this was brought to our attention a replacement meal would have been offered. With regards to...

The room is overlooking the main road and railway line so did not get a very good nights sleep, Some of the wallpaper is peeling at the edges. Room is clean but very dated fixtures and fittings. Bathroom was well equipped, plenty of towels etc, only disappointment was trying to have a shower that does not have good water pressure,...

.... looks lovely from outside all the staff very friendly. Room...well paper coming off the walls, mould around the windows, hard pillows, cheapest quilts stiff foam. Thin walls heard conversation from next door and his following snoring all night. Breakfast paid for. I ordered croissants that came raw in the middle. The lovely waiter did offer to re do but...

The Ashburnham Hotel is notable as the venue where Amelia Earhart, the American pilot, spent her first night after becoming the first female to complete the solo transatlantic flight. There is a blue plaque to commemorate her achievement. The hotel is now a popular wedding venue. It offers excellent food, both from the budget lunchtime menu and dinner

The Ashburnham has a long association with my family, the Thomas' of Pembrey. I had never been there before, but booked the night with my sister. First impressions were not encouraging - the place is beginning to look dated, both inside and out - and it was a miserable evening! However, the place is as clean as a new pin,...

I was best man for my best friend at this excellent hotel. I could not have had a better experience the professionalism of the staff made my job easy. Great attention to detail. They had their routine worked out. The manager Sue was like my wingman, helping me throughout the evening. Stayed in a double room which was spacious, clean...

It was a spur of the moment decision to lunch at this place. We have been a couple of times to the main restaurant and it was not bad - maybe a 7 or 8 out of ten, but today we went to the bar area. The food looked pretty good, BUT the Turkey meat tasted as if the poor...
