Upon arriving the hotel our cab driver asked if we had arranged for our luggage to be picked up by the hotel. Hmmm, no. We did not realize that the hotel was up a very steep hill and that we could have arranged for the...More
We stayed here for the first couple of days of our honeymoon. What a lovely hotel, it's has lots of character and charm and we really loved it.

The town of Pyrgos and the location of the hotel provides for a great vantage point to see the island, though not nearly as nice a view as if you stay directly on the caldera edge. However, the real issue is the service does not...More

No! There are no roads by the hotel and the only way is to walk up the path/stairs from the village square where there is parking nearby. There is a donkey to take your luggage though :-). Also the rooms are up and down steep paths/stairs fron Reception. This is a really lovely hotel but might not be right for someone who can't walk easily.

Some of the best restaurants on the island are within a short walking distance, see my review for recommendations. I paid €40 to hire a car for 24 hrs which is a must to make the most of your stay. The hotel were happy to arrange this but the car hire agency, Pyrgos Rent a Car, is also within walking distance.
The wifi signal is available throughout the hotel, including by the pool, but is only adequate for basic browsing and social media due to the limited bandwidth.
