Since there has been an extended period of unrest and touring Haiti has not been possible, it took over a year for us to finally travel to Petionville and stay at La Reserve. During that time, Vicaire was very helpful with our room choice and patient with the uncertainty of our stay. So, after much anticipation, last week, it was finally advisable for us to travel. I am pleased to say that we were the first tourists in approximately 6 months, and we couldn’t have had a better trip! La Reserve was great, including air conditioning and a very generous breakfast of fruit and an omelette. We ate dinner there both nights, and the food was excellent. Our room had a lovely balcony. The location and ambience of La Reserve were exactly what we were hoping for. I am hopeful that tourism will pick up. It is desperately needed!…
Nice and quiet hotel. Resided here for 5 nights during my stay in Haiti. Service is good, even though most staffs do not speak English, which sometimes can make it difficult (but this is a general issue in Haiti as a whole). Rooms were cleaned everyday, thus fresh. Food can be repetitive, even though a la carte, and do not expect to eat much a variety of fish. The Bar closes at 22:00 and after that they do not serve drinks (not even the person on duty at reception is allowed, which I founds rather strange). For the rest i had no complaints.
I was only there for a few hours, but the hotel room exceeded my expectations. The check-in process was smooth and painless. I was quickly directed to my room. It had all the amenities necessary and the bed was very comfortable. I slept like a baby and woke up to the sounds of nature and gentle birds. The room had a romantic balcony with a beautiful view. The breakfast was also very satisfying. They have a nice assortment of local tea and Natasha (the waitress) made me a tasty omelet and took very good care of me. Definitely a place I will come back to with my significant other. 😉
We sometimes wander down to this little hotel/resto/bar for a bite, since it's super close to home. There's some greenery, ample space in the extra lower parking, and a chilled out vibe. Though most of the things we tried on our first few visits didn't really stand out, on the last visit I tried the Chicken dish with a cream sauce and mushrooms. It was divine! Try it out, you will love it!!
I stayed there for 2 nights and it was lovely 😊. It's a little more on the rustic side but I loved it. The food was ok but not great but it didn't really bother me because I went out to eat. The deal breaker was the wifi...it was free but didn't work the entire time....there was a TV in the room but no cable so I couldn't watch anything. The view from the room was magnificent. The garden out front was so peaceful but mosquitoes were a little annoying. Everyone was nice. It felt like I wasn't in Haiti when I was only in Petionville. Instead of all those other Hotels that people go crazy for such as the Marriott and Best Western, Oasis and so on, I would rather stay at La Reserve.
