This place is well worth a visit. The location is simply breathtaking, with amazing mountain views. The room was comfortable but smelled a little musty, I guess because it's pretty damp there most of the year. Dinner and breakfast were pleasant at the restaurant.

We stayed the night here as we traveled south from Picton. What a great find. The location is picturesque, the staff friendly and accommodating and the facilities great for an out of the way hotel. The highlight was the mezzanine lift in the family room that our five year old was totally excited to stay in. Who doesn't want to...

Thank you klbea26 for taking the time to write your review and your positive comments. We do find the children love the ladder access to the mezzanine floor in the family rooms. We look forward to welcoming you back on a return visit. Best regards, Karen

The Alpine Lodge was very reasonably priced, especially considering it seems to be the only proper hotel in the area. The staff were very friendly in both reception and the restaurant. My partner and I enjoyed our meal and the warm atmosphere of the restaurant. Unfortunately the spa pool was under maintenance, hopefully it will be up and running soon...

Could not fault the accommodation & service offered at the Alpine Lodge for our small group of 6 friends & family. Room facilities very clean, comfortable & better than expected (previous ratings very harsh). Staff so friendly & helpful. Restaurant food excellent! Great wine list. Highly recommend and would come back again. Well done Leyton & staff!

Room was clean and well presented but fittings very 70's. Limited convenience in the room. No comfortable chairs - only the bed or desk chair to sit on. The electric jug doesn't fit under the tap in the bathroom to fill it! Why not use a smaller jug?

We stayed one night in a studio apartment. The layout of the downstairs area was inconvenient, with couches positioned so as to make it quite difficult to watch the TV. Be aware there is no possibility of preparing any food in this room, only a kettle and two mugs provided. The Lodge was very busy on the weekend of our...

This is the only place to stay in Saint Arnaud and it is very comfortable. There is a restaurant here but the one night we stayed here the restaurant was fully booked for the whole evening and the only food we could find was snacks across the road. We did order a take out pizza from the Lodge Bar but...

Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry you experienced difficulties with the restaurant especially as we make it our priority to provide for our in-house guests by making dinner reservations with them before we cater for non-guests. Your comments are noted regarding no kitchen facilities in the rooms - we do however offer apartments that have kitchen facilities....

Myself and two friends stayed here for one night during our mini road trip around the Nelson area. The room was fine, nothing particularly special but had plenty of space (5 beds in total - 1 double & 4 single). On further inspection we discovered two empty beer bottles under the bed which had not been removed by the cleaners....

We had a spacious unit with good cooking facilities. The hotel is in a great situation only a short walk to the lake. Great place to stop on the way to West coast or Hanmer springs. Welcoming staff. Good range of food in dinning room.

This was our first visit to Alpine Lodge, an overnighter with overseas family in tow, and in most respects we were highly impressed. The complex itself is spacious, attractive and very well kept; the rooms (one Superior, one Studio) were clean, well appointed and comfortable although our mezzanine sleeping loft was uncomfortably hot until later at night when we could...
