This is a unique gem. FIrst, Ms. Dauphin, the owner, simply could not have been more attentive. From the moment of booking, to the moment we left, she anticipated our every question and need. Friendly, highly professional, informative, constantly cleaning and working on the property, she was unfailingly gracious and upbeat. Secondly, the building is AWESOME!!! Situated off the beaten...

We booked this B&B/ Hotel as some friends who had come to visit us were staying there for the last two nights of their holiday and had invited us to join them. It is always hard to know what to expect and our arrival was greeted with some trepidation as there were roof repairs going on and there were tiles...

We had tickets for the rugby at Castres, but also wanted to explore a little further afield, so the location 7kms out of the town was excellent. What a find! This is a 14th century castle, just oozing in character, yet with enough modern facilities to ensure comfort.(eg wi -fi, TV,ensuites (though no thermostatic valve on the shower, so take care!)). The host...

I cycled from Le havre to Narbonne, and this was by far the most delightful hotel I stayed in during my 10 day trip. Huge 'olde worlde' airy room that was attractively decorated and with interesting features, such as cool, clay-tiled flooring and a period fireplace, while the breakfast room and stairs were straight out of a country mansion. The...

We stayed here overnight after a rugby game in Castres (which Northampton Saints won, thank you for asking). The chateau is a step back in time - history oozes out of every stone. Despite it being -5 outside, the bedroom was snug. This is not a plasma screen and mod-cons place to stay -but if you enjoy being a house...

We stayed here with our 2 year old son for a couple of nights and it was excellent. The location, the rooms and the building itself were great but what really made it for us was the friendly service of the staff. Having read the reviews on this site we booked the restraunt for our first night - the food...

M. Dauphin is the delightful host of this out-of the way inn. In truth, Le Castel is more a B&B than a hotel. If the Dauphins had several hundred thousand euros to spend, they could turn their property into a magnificent endroit. Their salon, alone, is a place out of time. In fact the entire site belongs to another era....

I can't say enough about this amazing property and it's owners, Mr & Mme Dauphin. We just showed up on their doorstep at 6PM on a Sunday without a reservation. We were shown to a wonderful, large, airy and light room on the 3rd floor decorated as if we were in Versailles ! Bed was perfectly comfortable, the room was...

We happened to come across this little chateau, built on the foundations of a XIIth century Cathar stronghold. Contrary to the austere way of Cathar living, this chateau de romance is giving you a great experience. Old stairways and refurbished rooms, matching the old with the new, this hotel is a very good deal at prices below Euro 100. However,...

This is a rather forlorn castel in the middle of nowhere, but a rather splendid middle of nowhere, with loads of walks for the trooper, a river and wild hillsides. We stayed in a very large room which was clean and comfortable and well equipped with views of a large, green garden with a couple of mazes. The restaurant served...
