We were late due to the delay in the ferry schedule and we phoned to inform them. They left a nice note on our door and they met us the next day with genuine Labrador hospitality. We stayed in the Loft and enjoyed the views and large space. The king size bed was comfortable as was the room. This room had a fridge, small countertop stove, kettle, toaster, coffee maker, utensils, glasses, etc. We ate at the Whalers Restaurant a few times and the food and service were excellent. WIFI works within a section in the restaurant. The room had satellite TV. Excellent accommodations operated by a genuine, kind, Labrador family. Thank-you

We stayed in The Loft. Overlooking the bay and Saddle Island. Right next door to the National Park Interpretive centre. The king size bed was very comfortable. Two side chairs and a table to enjoy drinks while enjoying the view. The kitchen was very small but did have fridge, microwave, hotplate, dishes and wine/beer glasses. We weren’t planning to cook elaborate meals!. The restaurant was basic bhut good. Like most places in Labrador, they are very short staffed.

What a classic Labrador setting. We stayed in Stagehead which is right on the water and features a little deck with picnic table and Adirondack chairs. Superb view. It’s built over the beach so a little wonky and cold. Everything creeks and it’s rustic.

We stayed in the Stage Head: big room, with a huge window that looks out over the bay. A very nice place to stay at! Very good location and comfy stay. They provide a wash basis + soap for dishes, cutlery

This red building overlooking the ocean once housed an inshore fishery business and was remodeled to house tourists. My husband and I have stayed here twice and enjoyed both stays. The first year we stayed in the Bernier Room. The decor was beautiful. The room had a setee, a comfortable bed, a microwave, and a small refrigerator and a coffee pot. The bathroom was roomy and clean. What more could you want. The second time we stayed in the Loft. WOW! Huge windows with a panoramic view of the ocean. It also had the essentials that the Bernier room had but with comfy armchairs too and a kitchen area. You hardly wanted to leave the room but the restaurant was calling to our hungry bellies. The food is great. Breakfast was good but the dinner was awesome--broiled cod with all the fixings. YUM! The owner and staff are friendly and pleasant. There is also an extensive gift shop adjoining the Basque themed restaurant. All in all, a great place to sleep and to eat.

This was one of the few options in the town, but worth the stop. The reservation process is a little dated, so I was very nervous that I would arrive and there would be a mistake with my reservation. However, there were no issues. There is a nice view of the ocean from here as well. Be careful, the black flies are horrible in this area and there are a fairly decent amount in the hotel. There is no cell connection anywhere in Red Bay, so make sure you are aware of this. There is also a permanent boil advisor in this town, so make sure to plan ahead. I would recommend driving along the coast. You can get a glimpse of icebergs on this drive. I went in August, but still saw a couple remaining icebergs.

The Stage Head was a fine place to stay with an amazing view over the water to the island. Right next to the whaling interpretive centre. Whaling Station folk are very friendly and helpful. Great food in restaurant. A word of warning...this particular suite has 2 double beds and they are very noisy. Sounds like they have tinfoil in the mattresses. Could use an mattress upgrade.

Wow! It was a two level place with a full fridge and a microwave. The downstairs had a table as well as a sitting room. Everything was tastefully done. The large bedroom upstairs had two queen beds with tons of space, The beds, sheets pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom was very nice as well with tons of hot water. The view from the large window was of the water and harbor area - very scenic.( Although when we were there the black flies would have carried you away) All in all - we really enjoyed out stay there and would recommend it to anyone. (we were late arriving and the ladies in the restaurant stayed and made us sandwiches so we would have something for dinner. very nice indeed)

We stayed 2 nights in Red Bay, and there wasn't a lot of choices for accommodations, but we were pleasantly surprised by the lovely Strand House cabin (the only one available during our stay). It had a comfortable living room with sofa, table and chairs and small kitchenette downstairs, with an upstairs loft with two double beds. As you drive up it looks like a windowless box, but inside it is spacious and there are large windows on the side with gorgeous views over the bay. Warning, there is no internet and the water is not drinkable (signs warned to boil it, which we did with the kettle in the room).

I enjoyed the location and the rustic cabin idea, but if you have a pet, you get to stay in the basement room. When the water isn't potable, bottled water should be provided as it is in Battle Harbor. Being a basement room the air was stagnant; consider a ceiling fan. We were settling in to watch a movie after dinner - 7:30 pm and there was lawn mowing right outside our room - it was running for at least 30 minutes; consider mowing early afternoon when tourists are busy. I was going to call the office to request they mow another time but alas! no telephone in the room in a place that has no cell service! had there been an emergency, well you may be out of luck. I recommend looking for other accommodations.
