Time to provide care to the building. Update the rooms & brighten it all up. Our stay was enjoyable but it is not the best place for the money anymore. Restaurant food is great & staff was all very nice.
We had really enjoyed our stay twice before but the hotel and facilities are not what it once was, a bit run down and could use some updating. The staff were very friendly and accommodating though. Would probably give it one more try next summer.
The location is beautiful and the amenities are nice. Facility needs maintenance but the staff are great. We enjoyed our stay the food was good the service was excellent but it was not all perfect. Mold around the tubs and broken sliding doors shows that the place is not being maintained. The wifi is horrible.
Very dirty, understaffed, pool was gross, adult pool had children in it, gym equipment broke, golf course not worth the fees especially for children, restaurant is only option and the food quality was poor. With exception of the golf course staff, the hotel staff were friendly
If you’re travelling with a baby and need wifi for your baby monitor - I will warn you now it will not work. We wasted so much time trying to get our baby monitor working. Even tried using our phones as a monitor but the signal was so weak it wouldn’t work either. Great resort but we won’t be back with our baby.
Everything was the way it should be for a 2 night stay at this resort, except for the ridiculous amount of noise after 11 PM when it is supposed to be quiet. There are signs posted in all the hallways to remind guests of this. But there was a wedding party during our stay and they partied and celebrated extensively. Of course, they didn’t stop after 11. I had to contact the front desk to talk to them on both nights about how much noise they were making. The staff did talk to them but not after the wedding people really got going after 11. So it took too long, I thought, for the staff to establish some level of peace and quiet. I have to wonder how the resort even allowed these guests to take over the place and cause so much disruption. They acted like they were the only guests that mattered. They were incredibly disrespectful. I’m not sure I would consider another stay at the resort due to the level of noise I had to endure. When I’m paying good money to spend a relaxing vacation and hoping to escape the stress of my everyday routine in the big city, it was very disappointing to discover this resort was not able to properly understand something so basic as this. I would not recommend this place.…
Hidden gem of a place! It was unfortunate there was flooding limiting access to the lighthouse and play structure but the food was great and kids had a blast splashing around in the pool! DVD and access to games was a nice feature.
A great place to visit. However the maintenance of every aspect of the hotel has slipped significantly over the years - from staff service, to cleanliness and repairs of the facility. If more effort is put into the maintenance of the hotel and the training of staff, I'm sure it will return to its former greatness.
We have stayed at the Hecla resort many times. The area has a number of attractions; the golf course is excellent and playable by a wide variety of skill levels. Over the years the resort itself has had it's ups and downs, with the most recent renovations it is again in an 'up'. The staff experience was excellent.
This resort needs a major facelift or a significant decrease in price before we will consider staying again. There was peeling paint and fogged windows all over the place. The wifi is dated with download speed of .15 mbps.
