Detailed Reviews
The hotel was clean and perfect for our week long stay. Marielle was very helpful.
There is no kettle or cups in room so be prepare. Take your own hair dryer. Parking was on the street but we had no problem. Our weather was poor lots of rain but the river beautiful and fast flowing. Sainte-Foy-la-Grande Foy le Grande very run down, quiet and shut up. We found a couple of good French restraunts across the bridge’two Oaks ‘ and ‘Sons of the water’

We have been well considered even without having breakfast.

+1
For a one night / short stay. Strong central location , very clean , secure garage parking ( if required- small extra cost), wonderful courtyard to relax in.
Staff very friendly.
Slightly complicated to find with the towns narrow/ one way system. Recently refurbished, no elevator, rooms set across two floors.

Le Grand Hotel in Sainte Foy La Grande has like the town itself seen better days and is in need of a full refurbishment. We ate in the full service restaurant some seven years ago and were very pleased and the hotel part at that time looked in good condition. However, the restaurant seems to have closed down and a café bar with a very restricted menu opened up in its stead. We did not eat in the hotel this time as the café was not open on the day we arrived and we had already made other arrangements for the second night.
The only reason we stayed at this hotel was that it accepted dogs and was in the town centre. Whilst it is reasonably clean the furnishings are outmoded and the decorations are in need of refreshment and frankly don't make a great impression. The hotel is apparently being run on a shoestring with only two or three members of staff and no permanent reception. It is only fair to say however that the lady looking after the reception and cleaning the rooms, Mireille, is very pleasant and did her best to see to our needs.
It is difficult to see how the hotel can stay in business so long as conditions remain as they are. I for one will not be staying there again.

The Grand Hotel has been very recently completely renovated and offers large comfortable rooms, with calm colors, large Italian shower in Bathroom. Very quiet and convenient. Very convenient if you want to visit both Perigord and Bordeaux region. Can rent e-bike at the nearby Office du tourisme and find many activities. And if exhausted you can ask reception to organize for Reflexology Foot massage. Room at Very interesting price
