Nice stay for a few days to explore the Hienghene area which there is lots of cool things, do a bit of research! Rooms were great, big, clean & quite but no wifi as you could only get that in the bar/reception area weird cos throughout the property it would connect to routers on the poles but no net except... Stayed here for a week diving at Poindimie with Tieti Dive and Babou Cote Ocean in Hienghene. Staff were lovely and friendly, very patient as I mangled the French language. The room was super and I appreciated the fold down seat in the shower. I had an ocean view and the sound of the waves with lovely dawns. Food was... More

For the ones who need the comfort of a great bed and bungalow right on the beach near hiengen, this is where to stay. Minutes away from "la Poule" and the "billet de 500" with lovely walks around, and activities you could easily stay there for more than a week! The breakfast is always good. However, the diner buffet can... More

Better priced than Noumea and a fantastic location, cocktails are 1st class, the room is great, they have coffee. Brilliant! Only bummer is no wifi in the room, I think they do normally but have a problem. Great location for checking out the local area, bush walks, water falls etc... The meals here are buffet style, and are fine. A... More

Reading all the reviews on TA about koulnoue, particularly the more recent ones, there is not much i can add. Just to say that the seafood buffet is a highlight and the bungalows have all been renovated. Ours was newly renovated, spacious, clean and the bathroom was clean and compact, but modern. Some of the bungalows have a private plunge... More

The best hotel on east coast of New Caledonia, well located on the beach, on a 10 hectares piece of land with coconut trees. The 50 bungalows were totally refurbished in december 2015, they are now very confortable, don't try the melanesian traditional huts, they a re not confortable at all. the food is good (buffet) and hotel staff friendly.... The situation is ok and the area interesting. The bungalows are in serious disrepair - mould everywhere, part of our ceiling was adrift and was going to fall on someone sometime, where there had been a telephone was a hole in the wall etc etc. However more shabby than the accommodation was the service. Arrived after long hot trip to... More

We had been expecting a more tribal-style stay and after a long day driving were delightfully surprised that Koulnoue Village was an ex-Club Med. The bungalow was a little cramped for 4 people but given that there was a small deck and an entire beach to roam, it was fine. The cocktails in the bar were nice and the buffet... More
