We stayed in this campsite. The good news: dune is great fun. Campsite is not too loud. The not so good news: the caravans are old. Ours had a leaky boiler and this was fixed after some complaining. We were not sure they really fixed it, so we left. The campsite of course did not care about the experience. Toilets... More

The campsite is located right behind the dune, which is great, because have direct ("nearly private") access to the dune, which is nice during sun rise & set. But - of course - this also means that, if you don´t want to swim in the pool with the kids, you have to walk up & down the dune to get... More

CAMPING FACILITIES – The shower area gives ample privacy and water pressure is alright. The toilet cubicles are also well-situated. I mentioned this because in some camping sites, you can literally see or figure out what the person is doing in the shower and toilet cubicles. This is fortunately not the case here. There is enough washing sink/lavabo available thanks... More

Found this place after visiting the dune du pilat. Right at the bottom of the dune so a very sheltered site, even though you are right on the coast. Climb up the ladder to the top of the dune and watch the sunset. Fantastic setting! Very good and clean facilities and very helpful staff. Wifi is available. Bar has very... More

We intended to stop for one night, ended up staying for three! The campsite is based as the bottom of a huge sand dune - so nice waking up to see it. The staff at the campsite and helpful. Each evening has entertainment provided for children which is entertaining even though I don't have any! Local amenities are good and... More

We selected a pre-erected tent with fridge/freezer, cooker, 2 rooms, veranda etc.. Very comfortable and amazingly cheap, only a couple of euros more expensive than erecting our own tent. Also right on the Dune du Pilat, with a set of steps to the top, so able to climb and explore this amazing dune. Nice pool, and restaurant and shop. Wi-Fi... More

We decided for a so we thought quiet camping site but at night there were cryings and shouts because of a family trouble. The man attacked his wife their child was between and no one came for help so we had to call the police and change to a safer place at 4 o'clock in the morning!

Wanted to hire a chalet for 2 nights. Despite being told they were all taken, we were offered one. This was because they were pretty empty. The chalet we got was great. Good value and with a view of the Dune. We had been on this site before and enjoyed being there. The facilities are good and the ladder on... More

As most people said the camping is in great location, in the middle of the dune, so it's very sheltered. We stopped here for 2 nights while touring France on a motorbike and chose a tent pitch in row "V" so no electricity and near the dune. Quite a few of the sanitary blocks were closed because it was September... More

La Foret has everything you need as a base for exploring the local area. The dune is enormous and dwarfs everything and it does provide shelter from sea breezes making it peaceful. Pitches are reasonable and adequate but are not luxurious in any way. All are sandy (not surprisingly) and have a rocky base meaning pegs can be difficult to... More
