There aren’t enough stars to give!!! My husband and I only stayed for one night but we felt like we were away so much longer...so tranquil and such a beautiful space, it felt like a full vacation! Fabulous hosts, comfy bed, amazing breakfast and an awesome drawing workshop. Couldn’t have been better! We will be back for sure!!!
My husband and I were at Daffodil Acres B&B, in Newboro ON, for 3 nights in early August. We stayed in the "spirit horse" room with a modern ensuite shower/toilet/ sink. From the moment you walk into this large 1860 stone house, you know it's well loved and well cared for by its owners Charles and Isabelle. The original wood floors and stairs are polished to a gleam, the furniture and fixtures are tasteful, and everything is spotless. Our room had a comfortable king sized bed and a good sized clothes closet, and was large enough to accommodate us easily without stepping on each others' toes. Our AC was excellent during very hot weather and we could set the temperature ourselves. There were several comfortable areas in the house to relax or read, including a big bright sunroom at the back of the house. Tea/coffee was always available, plus a fridge near the sunroom for guest use. There was no TV in the room, but wifi was available everywhere. NOTE: There is one low step into the bathroom. The location is great if staying in the area - anything in Newboro village is no more than a 5-10 minute walk; the Newboro Locks of the historic Rideau Canal are just a bit further, adjacent to the Newboro harbour and marina; the larger town of Westport is only a 10 minute drive by car. Overall, this was a splendid, relaxing place to spend a few days. We'd highly recommend it.…
We only stayed one night, but thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Room was exceptionally comfortable and the breakfast just what was needed before we started our trip up the Rideau. Would certainly recommend and will stay here again if we are back in the area.
Im repeating my review from hotels.com here as our stay was so incredible! This is an amazing gem of a place where great detail has been paid to the smallest things (comfort, convinced and food!) in a wonderful setting. Combined with great staff and a perfect location, its worth making a week long stop between cities or as a destination in its own right! We hope to visit again soon. Thankyou to the wonderful staff (especially simone) (From two very happy Brits)
We spent only one night at Daffodil Acres but thoroughly enjoyed it. Wished we had spent longer because the relaxed friendly atmosphere set by Charles and Sarah makes you want to settle back and chill. The architecture and renovation work is first class and the history of the house is fascinating. The moment you walk in you feel instantly at home.
