The Chateau is a glorious property of some substance and character, if a little worn and torn at the edges. A restful retreat, however we had driven 200kms to be luxuriated and fascinated by the restaurant. However, the Michelin Star must be from another menu, at another time, as we received just good home cooked food.....The French billiards and the...

From driving in, the high ceilinged room, the reception area, lounge and restaurant all make a lovely impression. Set in large grounds we were able to take a half an hour walk through forests and fields, with a provided map, to stretch our legs. The room was excellent, traditional, high ceilings, huge bathroom but still with wifi and a TV....

My boyfriend and I just completed our own "Tour de France" during the month of July and this was the first place we stayed in. The bar was really set high after our experience here. We arrived late on a Sunday night (17 July). However, we were made to feel right at home - from the moment we pulled up...

We stayed in three chateaux during our holiday in France this summer and this was our favourite. The grounds and pool area are wonderful, the restaurant has amazing food and wines and our room was great. The service was spot on, prompt but not over facing. Our only complaint would be that the wifi reception was non existant in our...

Poor facilities no shower other than a hand held , curtains that have holes in them. Bikes were free to use but had flat tyre's no offer to blow them up. No...

My Father and I stopped here whilst travelling across France. He is a huge foodie and had read good reviews so we were very excited about staying. Have to say we had one of best stays ever. As soon as we arrived we jumped in the pool and were served tea by the pool side. There was no one else...

Searching a stop between Belgium and Bilbao, we discovered by chance Le Chateau de Curzay ! A wonderful 16th century castle near Poitier. As from our arrival we felt welcome, people running to your car to help you with your luggages and car ... Le Chateau de Curzay doesn't get a "modern lifting" what a chance! You get the right...

Well kept chateau hotel in a romantic park. Hotel has nice bar and a good restaurant. Stayed in a two bedroom "apartment like" room and everything was in good condition. It is not in the city centre, but worth the extra effort. Hotel was actually very cheap compared with the service and premises.

My wife and I stayed at the Chateau on Saturday night en route back to the UK. The chateau is a stunning building set in acres of beautiful parkland. We had a room on the 2nd floor with great views of the park. The chateau has a slightly jaded feel to it and seems to be in need of refurbishment....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
So many wonderful experiences await at the Chateau de Curzay, built in 1710. Take a hot air balloon ride from the park and survey Romanesque Vienne from the sky. Drift in a boat down the Vonne, at the heart of the estate, in search of the secret garden, and have a picnic on the banks of the river, in the shade of 200 year-old cedar trees. Go for a walk through the estate's 120 hectares in search of deer that roam wild. Visit the Futuroscope, a fairytale temple of images. Discover the seductive charm of the Poitevin marsh. Stop off in the town of Poitiers to admire the medieval facades. Back at the chateau, days and nights can be spent in magnificent tranquillity, between romantic strolls, dinner on the terrace, beauty treatments, classical music in the chapel and relaxing at the pool. ... more   less
