While driving from Saguenay to the Saint Lawrence River we decided to stop in this town on the shores of the river for a bit to eat. We saw a couple of places where you could get a burger or sandwich but then saw this place beside the dock for the ferry to Riviere du Loup on the other side. The views from this restaurant are stunning. My wife had the Matane Shrimp salad which was full of fresh shrimp from Matane, Qc just up the river. I took the fresh grilled salmon burger. Both were very good. Service is ok, but this is also not 5 star dining. A great place to stop for some local fresh fish and seafood. If you need to wait for the ferry I would try this place for the view and food cannot be beat.

This hotel is adjacent to the Ferry Dock and a nice restaurant.
This is truly a very basic room, however, clean, clean, clean.
There is no elevator, however the view from the third floor is preferred.
Enjoy your evening cocktail on the balcony.

This small motel has a wonderful view, is very clean, and basic. We wanted to be on the water and close to the ferry (which we took the next morning). The beds were good, the shower was good, the cafe across the way had a good and inexpensive breakfast. And did I say that the motel was very clean!

The "Auberge sur Mer" is a ripp-off. You pay a 3-star-price for a 1 star hotel, by any standard. The fotos on their homepage suggest that it is literally on the beach due to the colour of the sand right in front of it. However, this is actually a black parking lot! In front of the hotel is the owners restaurant so you dont really have a view on the St. Lawrence river but on the restaurant (their food is ok, at least the best in this town). The furniture dates back to the 1960s or 70s. Their homepage forgets to mention that right next to the hotel is the loading ramp for the car ferry to the other side of the St. Lawrence river. So do not expect much silence but noise and fuel exhausts when the ferry arrives and departes. The beach which is 200m to the left is there but right behind is the armada of caravans of a camping site. Regrettably, what is shown on the fotos does not reflect reality. Better forget about this hotel and go elsewhere before being disappointed and ripped off.

My husband and I stayed here and we loved it! The view was wonderful. Sitting on the balcony enjoying a beverage and seeing the ferry come in was great.
The room was clean and very reasonable. The owner was very nice and we would stay there again fro sure.

This accommodation is very handy to the ferry terminal. The room was clean but very basic. The beds were comfortable. A small fridge was provided. Some basics were missing (e.g., water glasses). There are other options I would try before returning.

Desk clerk at check-in not friendly. Couldn't or wouldn't speak English. Provided very vague details on how to find room in old part of hotel and the dining room. Carpets in room filthy. Dining room staff had great difficulty with English and weren't that friendly. Clerk at check out was friendly and spoke English. I would never recommend this place to an English-speaking traveller. Just not made to feel welcome at all...and it wasn't cheap either.

I needed to catch the ferry in the morning and the location is perfect for that. Price was reasonable, I had a nice view from my room (although there's an upcharge for "fleuve" side) and the restaurant was decent. The rooms are small but adequate. Mine was clean and in good shape. Not sure how much more you can ask from a two star hotel.

Stayed here recently because of the location on the water and recommendations for their excellent restaurant. Neither disappointed. Wonderful higher end restaurant and lovely tranquil view of the St. Lawrence.
The room was very simple, fairly large and as clean as a room with old carpet can be. A change of flooring would greatly enhance the experience. Room had a strong smell of cleaning products (maybe carpet cleaner).
As advertised, the room was fully equipped with kitchen facilities for longer term holidayers. The lobby and lounge in the main building are lovely. We left before breakfast was served but were able to get good coffee at the front desk.

Got an Expedia sale for $49.00/night. For the price it was great. Also conveniently next to the ferry. Our room was close to the "living room" and the wifi didn't reach. The walls are also very thin. Bed and pillows were comfortable and we slept well. Great place to stop for a night.

We had breakfast at the restaurant and it was average. Prices were alright. Service was slow and they brought us the wrong bill twice.
