Perfect place for the whole family to relax and enjoy this stunning region of Quebec. Genevieve and Claude were friendly, gracious hosts who went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The historic mansion is charming and the outdoor terrace has many comfortable seats to sit for hours and soak up the scenery. Lots of games and sports equipment to keep the kiddos happy as well. And did I mention the freshly baked cookies and muffins?! This motel is fantastique! We can’t wait to come back.

I thought it looked nice, and reviews were pretty good. It was. The 5 or 6 rooms had all been done up in the descent past. The owner was lovely, with his limited English, telling us about a minke whale and calf that had been swimming to within a hundred m of the building, and arranging zodiac whale trip for us 20 k further up the st lawrence river. As other rooms vacant, gave us choice of rooms. On bank of a stream feeding into st lawrence just 75 m away, with the lovely 'Indian' summer weather, it was idyllic, supping wine on the verandah, though wrapped up! Only negative, was the road flyover spanning the valley, but once you accepted this, you could ignore it, and there was little traffic noise, maybe because it was end of season, but even so...

We were looking for good lodging in San Simeon Quebec to be ready for the morning ferry to Rivere du Loup. Not great options, almost all motels or B&B's with shared bath. But we chose La Gentilhommiere and had a very pleasant experience. The French Speaking couple who own /manage the place were very helpful, the room spacious and clean, free WiFi. Just what we wanted. 2 minutes to the ferry and a restaurant for breakfast.

I booked this motel on line. We drove the trans Labrador highway and this was our first night stop. We arrived where our GPS was telling us the motel should be, but could not find the motel. After stopping at another motel and asking directions we found our motel. Coming into reception I was a little worried as the room was freezing! The owner assured us that the room area was warm.
Our room was a good size and included a small fridge and a microwave. The Room and bathroom were clean. The bathroom was a nice size. The shower had very good water pressure. The room was well insulated against noise, and as the owner had said it was also very comfortably heated. The bed linen were new. The mattress were not that comfortable. This is why I have given this motel a lower score. Waking up in the morning we were surprised at how pretty the area around the motel is. The motel has a view of the St Lawrence, there is a bridge but this kind of adds to the charm. The owner gave us a history of the motel and then showed us the apartment upstairs. It is beautiful and I would consider coming back to this motel and staying in the apartment. Over all the motel rooms are OK. Good place to stay for an overnight trip. The apartment however look very nice and would be good for a few days visit.

We stayed in the Charlevoix region for one weekend at the beginning of September for some hiking and sightseeing. We rented the apartment unit offered at the Gentilhommiere. Huge, two floor space, including a kitchen, a living room, three bedrooms and a beautiful view of the Fleuve. The space was very clean and is tastefully finished. Highly recommended if you intend on staying in the Charlevoix region.

For $80 a night for two people this place is amazing. It has been done up to a very good standard, beds are comfortable and there is a fridge and microwave in the room. If contemplating eating in though, be aware that there are no plates and cutlery. On the other hand Le Quevillon up the road serves breakfast from 06:00 if you want an early getaway or to take the morning ferry across to Riviere Du Loup.

Owner can’t do enough to please though his Quebecois French was probably about the most impenetrable we encountered. He even provided a cunning little wooden wedge to stop the door from locking itself while you unloaded and loaded the car.

Best hotel in this price range weve stayed in so far in our venture into the gaspesie. Primarily french speaking manager was helpful. Room was newly renovated and comfortable. Location is at the mouth of a river into the saint laurence. An interesting view under a bridge to the saint laurence. Really liked the place. Would stay again.

A bit difficult to find, as our GPS kept indicating "turn left", when actually the hotel was on the right, not visible from the road. We were checked in, given keys, and shown to our room. During our 2 night stay we never again saw another staff person or owner or anyone, other than guests. Our room was very spacious with a nice view out the back, overlooking a sloping grassy area and a babbling section of the river. Room was clean and quite comfortable, furnished with a microwave. Very convenient for getting to the ferry to Riviere du Loup.

Friendly husband and wife running this hotel, very welcoming and flexible - we arrived much too early but we'd let into our room. The room had a partial view onto the St Lawrence. Plenty of space in the room and very clean. We are told not to leave the screen open as there are bugs, but they didn't trouble us at all in late September.

We chose this hotel to spend a night before taking the ferry to New Brunswick. Our GPS led us to another hotel, but we quickly found the right place. The office was locked, but someone quickly came and checked us in. Our room was very large and clean. Beds were comfortable. It was cold and rainy outside, so we just wanted a place to sleep. The next morning we discovered a lovely patio outside with a view of the river. Too bad the weather didn't allow us to use it.
