Found this place while we were looking for a nice place to stay near the snow monkey park. Located about 8 min walk from the yudaiba station. It's about two mile from the snow monkey park. You can walk the distance, or take a taxi from the train station. The hotel itself is one of the newer facilities in this...

Spent one night here for a large family get together, room was very nice, great balcony with beautiful outdoor tub.Only draw back was the indoor bathtub didn't drain correctly and backed up. But overall a nice experience. We had a large dinner in a private room that was great, awesome food and presentation, service was very good. Breakfast was buffet...

Very nice ryokan, friendly staff. We were picked up at the station and after check in, brought to the monkey park. We walked back from the park which was about 40 minutes. We had a room with private hot bath, lovely and relaxing!! With our teenage son, it was convenient not to have to go to the public hotel bath...

We found Aburaya Tosen when looking for somewhere to stay when visiting the Snow Monkey Park. It is a traditional Japanese Ryokan style hotel a short drive (15 min walk) from the train station at Yudanaka (easily reached from Nagoya). A member of staff was waiting to meet us off the train and took us down to Aburaya Tosen in...

We booked thru Agoda, but according to the hotel, Agoda has shown a wrong picture of the room, so instead of a Twin suite with onsen, we were given the Tatami suite with onsen. The room was not spotless, the rocking chair was dusty, the toilet room smelled, and the onsen in the balcony didn't look clean. The staff were polite,...

I stayed here so that I could stay somewhere close to the 'legendary' snow monkeys. Service was high touch and what you would expect of a hotel of this type. The in room mineral bath with our room was defiantly worth the additional cost. My only complaint is that there does not appear to be much to do in town,...

This hotel is right by a bubbling river, and smack on top of a hot spring that serves the onsen baths. We had a junior suite with a private onsen - definitely worth it. Watch the official 2:30pm check-in time; the hotel doesn't have flexibility for earlier check-ins, even if the room is not occupied. It appeared to us that...

It's famous in the Yudanaka area, only 8 mins walk from the Yudanaka station or 700 yen for a taxi ride. Staff is very friendly. You can experience two onsens in a day where one of them with a jacuzzi tub (but can't find the switch to switch on). Some staff speak English too. Your dinner is served in a...

My husband and I stayed at Aburaya Tosen for one night in April 2016 in a junior suite with an open air bath while holidaying around Japan for two and a half weeks. We chose this ryokan based on its close proximity to the snow monkeys (the main/sole reason why we were in the area). Pros: - This is a...
