This ryokan met our high expectations ... the meals were excellent, traditional Japanese cuisine, and very plentiful. The staff were very accommodating and led us gently through the Japanese customs. The rooms very lovely, spotlessly clean, beautiful tatami, comfortable futon, and neck-friendly sculpted pillows. The bath was able to be private and very very warm and soothing after a long...

We stayed at this ryokan thanks to some positive reviews. Coming from Tokyo it was a pleasure to be in such a beautiful and tranquil place. The family living there is so kind and welcoming; I've never experienced something like that. The house is very simple and super clean. The bathrooms are shared but always impeccable (and pure Japanese style)....

This ryokan was a welcome respite from the busy hotels in the big cities of Tokyo and Kyoto. Staying here, out in the country, was one of our favorite experiences in Japan. The family that owns the ryokan are just wonderful, friendly, inviting people. Dinner was course after amazing course of food that was almost too beautifully prepared to eat....

We have really enjoyed our time at this family-run ryokan. It is located on the road towards shirakawago. If you enjoy nature and tranquility, it will be a really wonderful place to stay. The family is very welcoming and we had our dinner there, which was simply impeccable. We were there in May and lucky enough to have wild vegetables...

The family-run ryokan is located some 20min drive from Shirakawago. The owner picked us up in his mini bus after our visit to the village. We had a bedroom for 3 on the first floor and they actually gave us another room for relaxation! Toilet and bathroom/onsen are shared but they are sparkling clean. They even have this arrangement that...

If you want to have an authentic Japanese experience, this is the place to stay at. This family-owned ryokan is about 10min by car from Shirakawago and the owner kindly picked us up after our visit of this village. We were warmly welcomed by some members of the family. Our room was upstairs with a beautiful view on the mountains....

This is where we had our authentic japanese experience. The service is excellent. The place is great and cosy. Altho, it was a shared toilet but we didnt mind it at all. The washroom too is quite nice. Would recommend the place if you want to experience the ryokan experience.

Booked this last minute after a late afternoon decision to head to Shirakawa-Go. Couldn't have made a better one in hindsight. The Ryokan itself is perfect; A beautiful old building that has been really well maintained and feels very comfortable, clean and secure. Service is impeccable. I've been traveling with someone that speaks Japanese and they commented on how professional...
