We have stayed at Panketo Lodge several times from December 2020-February 2021. Iori & Jane are wonderful at making guests feel at home. Their breakfasts are healthy, filling, varied & delicious!! Use of the lodge kitchen is available for lunch & dinner...a huge plus if you want to prepare your own meals for your family...be considerate & clean up after yourself & wash the dishes & utensils after use. Guests can also place their labeled foods into the Guest Refrigerator in the kitchen, use the washer (free with detergent)/dryer (100 yen for 40 minutes) in the basement, Drying Room for ski/snowboard equipment & there’s also a yoga studio with classes available. The rooms are small but comfortable. Dog friendly. Close to Sakka Lift for Happo One.

Great location for easy access to slopes, amazing service with transport to local shops/bank. Large kitchen to stay and cook your own food and short walk to bars/restaurants. Will definitely be going again!

From booking contact to helping out during our stay, it was amazing. If you are looking for a lodge in Hakuba relatively close to the slopes, with friendly staff and a good breakfast then look no further. Owners did upgrading on the property and it looks good. Even for a shy couple, you can leisure at your own convenience or join a good conversation or sake in the lodge. Close to the lodge are bus stops, snow gear hire and coffee places, restaurants and pubs a stroll away. Bus stops for other resorts just a short walk or the lodge crew are able to help you out. Would highly recommend them and cannot thank Chip, Yumi, Hero, Michael and Chrissie enough (not in a particular order). We love to see different places each time, but when we would go back, we know where to stay.

As a family of four staying at Hakuba for four nights, we couldn't have asked for any more than what was offered at Panketo Lodge. The family room was perfect for privacy; the shared kitchen, dining and living rooms were perfect for catching up with other families; and the hosts were amazing. 'Chip' took the two boys up the ski slopes and helped them find their footings, and offered the most comfortable ski boots when my hired boots created misery; Hero helped me find the correct groceries in the supermarket when I couldn't read the Japanese labels; Umi provided the most amazing piano concert ever (and dressed in the traditional kimino); and all of the staff were on standby when we were in need of support. Panketo Lodge (looking like a gingerbread house on the outside) was a true fairytale. Thank you to everyone for going above and beyond to create a wonderful holiday for our family.

I messed up our booking and arrived a day early but was lucky the guys figured out a way to fit us in. We loved the relaxed feel of staying here.. our group of 11 may have taken over the place a little (happens when there's so many of you) but everyone left saying it was great choice of accommodation. Kids loved the games room, home cooked breakfasts while. enjoying the view and relaxing by the fire at night. There are good bars and pubs in the area and we enjoyed visiting a small local. onsen too. If you don't mind a shared lodge kind of stay, you'll love Panketo (and more child friendly than Panke Panke I think).

Panketo Lodge was exceptional. The lodge itself is very comfortable with a lovely communal kitchen and lounge area. The rooms are well appointed and just what was required. We stayed in the family room (one double bed and 2 single bunks) with our own private bathroom. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone without hesitation and if/when I return to Hakuba I will definitely look to stay here again. The lodge is slightly further up the hill than some of the other options but still only a 5 minute walk to ski rental shop and the bottom of the slopes. I would definitely look to stay here again as the lovely setting for me more than made up for the extra little walk. The host couple Klaudyna and Jason were wonderful and went above and beyond what one could expect. They made our trip truly memorable and we were very lucky to have them there to welcome us, cook us delicious breakfasts every morning and help us get the most out of our stay in Hakuba. If I could rate 6 stars I would! Highly recommended.

I had a chance to stay at Panketo for 10 days in February. It was a perfect spot to experience the amazing Hakuba ski area. A beautiful lodge and setting, with a welcoming, laid back atmosphere that reminded me of a bed and breakfast back here in Canada. The lodge hosts were there to shuttle guests to and from the grocery store, restaurants, make breakfast in the morning, check snow reports and help us find the best places to see and do while visiting. But best of all they were great people to chat with and made your stay extra special. The lodge had all the amenities I needed with a ski/board drying room, lounge areas, comfy beds, nice bathrooms, kitchen to cook in and as a bonus snow monkeys hanging in the trees outside our window. Panketo is a definitely a more quiet atmosphere but if you wanted apres drinks it was a short walk away, as were the ski lifts. Highly recommended!

I had a great opportunity to stay at Panketo Lodge last month for almost 2 full weeks. Myself and 2 friends were welcomed by the two amazing lodge host with smiles and gave us a tour of the entire place and also got to meet the other guest as well whom were lounging after a day on the hill. The room was very clean, updated and the beds were so comfy! Has great views of the valley and the yoga re-treat I attend everyday was held in a beautiful open room with views of the trees and snow covered hills. We even got to see Snow Monkeys climbing in the trees which was a great experience. The location of the Lodge was perfect, just a few steps away is local and popular bar / restaurant which serves great food! Also steps away from the gondola and other lodges and rental shops. And the best part, there were onsens close by so you can go relax after a busy day! I would highly recommend staying here if your looking for comfort, relaxation and to just zen out!! I be back that for sure :)

Me, Jake Just and Tommy Macca all headed down for a good time and a great ski. Needed a break from the pressures of school and this place provided the goods. Great skiing and the best place to stay. Props to Kye and the Opie family for a good time
