We have stayed at Panketo Lodge several times from December 2020-February 2021. Iori & Jane are wonderful at making guests feel at home. Their breakfasts are healthy, filling, varied & delicious!! Use of the lodge kitchen is available for lunch & dinner...a huge plus if you want to prepare your own meals for your family...be considerate & clean up after yourself & wash the dishes & utensils after use. Guests can also place their labeled foods into the Guest Refrigerator in the kitchen, use the washer (free with detergent)/dryer (100 yen for 40 minutes) in the basement, Drying Room for ski/snowboard equipment & there’s also a yoga studio with classes available. The rooms are small but comfortable. Dog friendly. Close to Sakka Lift for Happo One.
Great location for easy access to slopes, amazing service with transport to local shops/bank. Large kitchen to stay and cook your own food and short walk to bars/restaurants. Will definitely be going again!
From booking contact to helping out during our stay, it was amazing. If you are looking for a lodge in Hakuba relatively close to the slopes, with friendly staff and a good breakfast then look no further. Owners did upgrading on the property and it looks good. Even for a shy couple, you can leisure at your own convenience or join a good conversation or sake in the lodge. Close to the lodge are bus stops, snow gear hire and coffee places, restaurants and pubs a stroll away. Bus stops for other resorts just a short walk or the lodge crew are able to help you out. Would highly recommend them and cannot thank Chip, Yumi, Hero, Michael and Chrissie enough (not in a particular order). We love to see different places each time, but when we would go back, we know where to stay.
As a family of four staying at Hakuba for four nights, we couldn't have asked for any more than what was offered at Panketo Lodge. The family room was perfect for privacy; the shared kitchen, dining and living rooms were perfect for catching up with other families; and the hosts were amazing. 'Chip' took the two boys up the ski slopes and helped them find their footings, and offered the most comfortable ski boots when my hired boots created misery; Hero helped me find the correct groceries in the supermarket when I couldn't read the Japanese labels; Umi provided the most amazing piano concert ever (and dressed in the traditional kimino); and all of the staff were on standby when we were in need of support. Panketo Lodge (looking like a gingerbread house on the outside) was a true fairytale. Thank you to everyone for going above and beyond to create a wonderful holiday for our family.…
I messed up our booking and arrived a day early but was lucky the guys figured out a way to fit us in. We loved the relaxed feel of staying here.. our group of 11 may have taken over the place a little (happens when there's so many of you) but everyone left saying it was great choice of accommodation. Kids loved the games room, home cooked breakfasts while. enjoying the view and relaxing by the fire at night. There are good bars and pubs in the area and we enjoyed visiting a small local. onsen too. If you don't mind a shared lodge kind of stay, you'll love Panketo (and more child friendly than Panke Panke I think).
