Great location to stay when coming to Alpine Route. The charges was reasonable. Sizes of the room is great. But the meals provided need to be improve, although the resources is tough but if run as a hotel, I guess the basic food such as some meat of fish is necessary but not nuggets as main dish for guest. Another... More

The location is great – 15 minutes’ walk from Murodo terminal, amid fantastic Alpine scenery. But basically it’s a hostel, pretending to be a lodge. The building is made of plywood and put together as cheaply as possible, so there’s no sound barrier at all between you and the rooms next door or the corridor. The rooms are very basic... More

Room was larger than I expected which was a delight. Staff was quick to accommodate in making a vegetarian set dinner since I am vegetarian. That also pleased me. Heater in the room works well so I was pleasantly warm and toasty. Since I was given a room in C building, Internet worked well although there were moments of lost... More

Stayed there with my family just two days ago. It was snowing extremely heavily the afternoon we arrived; the fog rolled in, it was snowing and there was a whiteout. But the scenery was breathtaking as a result. The station staff offered to call the hotel to get them to send someone to pick us up - which was really... More

The restaurant staff don't call explanation for guest. If you don't know how to order in the restaurant, you are hard to use the restaurant, because staff isn't speak for guest. I use the restaurant only,so I don't know the Hotel eria.

Hotel location is superb, it sits on the volcano caldera and has a huge mountain ridge as a backdrop. Walking around the hotel just before sunset will be a walk to remember in one's life. Hotel staffs are nice and helpful. Some can speak good English. Room is nice and up to normal ryokan standard, anyway, u have to do... More

You can see great wonderful scenery in own your room. It is very convenient place to climb Mt.Tateyama. Dinner and Breakfast is to eat too unpalatable dishes what it mean to the cooking is poor. So I recomend that you could take something favorite foods.

Murodo is definitely an incredible and awesome place to visit! This ryokan was booked via Japanican without breakfast and dinner package. It offers breathtaking view, tranquil environment and surrounded by those gorgeous mountains. The rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious. The ryokan also serve food like curry rice, japanese noodle and beef bowl in the range of 700yen to 800... More

“no need to stay overnight at midagahara or murodou unless you are doing serious trekking...the alpine route can be traversed in 1 day about 2hrs walk on midagahara & 2 hrs walk on murodou, and probably better ryokan experience at unazuki, toyama & omachi onsen locality”
