Two words that sum-up our stay at the Suginoyu Hotel - Excellent & Perfect. The Suginoyu Hotel couldn't be more perfectly located - overlooking the Otaki Reservoir, surrounded by mountains. During my second visit to Kawakami-mura, I had the opportunity to have lunch at the Sugi-no-yu restaurant. The salted fish was delicious, but the highlight of my lunch was the chagayu. It is rice made with tea instead of water, and then cooled and served with pickles. Seeing as chagayu is a local specialty, I was more than happy to...

Unplugging from work and city life and all the devices that come with and connect us to it can be tough. Finding the place in which to do it doesn't have to be.
