The restaurant is since 85 years in the hands of one family. And as the leaflet says the recipes are traditonal, you can also trust the pictures, the dishes are served amazingly (check out Tartar with a forest bed underneath the glass plate of your double-plate), what is more important the food we orderd (Wild, Tartar and others, incl. starters)... We had an excellent dinner! The menu draws liberally from the hearty rural traditions of the region, transforming the excellent fresh local products into dishes that are at the same time unpretentious, down to earth and delicately refined, smartly balanced. The clear fresh flavors of the amuse bouche, a piece of strongly smoked trout on a slice of fried zucchini... More

We stopped for lunch on the way to Andermatt after recommendation. It was well worth it. Kitchen was about to close, but they volunteered to cook for us. Incredibly tasty and interesting food in a wonderful setting. The children also loved the food and they went to some length to accommodate the smallest one's wishes.

Clean, adequate bedroom with a small bathroom and good wifi. What distinguishes this hotel is its restaurant where the chef prepares themed dishes (eg variations around the pea) with excellent ingredients (tender lam and succulent beef) and perfect execution (tarte citron prepared like a crème brulée). A very tasty pitstop indeed.

I have not found the way for reporting on the high quality of the restaurant of this hotel, so I dare to report here (I was guest of another hotel, down along the Vorderrhein Valley). The restaurant hall is finely set in wood, as so customary in the Alpine region. I chose a coarse based on local fish (trouts), which... More

At first we thought we were in the wrong place, everything looked so much like any inn in a small mountain town would, including the decor which is 20 years old. But then we understood, from the way the table was set and the competent waiter approached us, that we were in for an interesting dining experience. Which overall did not... More

This review might come somewhat unusual, but please indulge me! I left early morning Geneva and headed towards the Rhine valley on the other side of Switzerland with a sports convertible. The weather was not very good. Overcast and fresh, no rain. Lucky! The idea was the drive as I head through the Valais direction Andermatt over the Furka Pass.... More

Manuel Reichenbach and his crew perform magic in the kitchen. We enjoyed the degustation menu with 7 courses, accompanied with very special French wines. Nothing is 08/15 there. Especially nice was the choice of cheese at the end of the meal. We've never seen such a fine choice. Eating there is an experience, and definitively worth the money!

I stayed here for one night with my mother in separate rooms. She had a single and I had a double. The hotel is fairly basic and the rooms are quite simple, but sufficient for a short stay. My double room was fairly cozy. Liked the beams in the ceiling and the wood walls. I liked the touch of seeing... More

I decided to stay in this hotel for a week to take advantage of their 'Ski-Safari' offer. From this central location I was able to explore the entire Surselva region (Brigels, Obersaxen, Sedrun/Oberalp, Disentis and also head out to Andermatt which is included in the same ski pass). The value is excellent, especially given that the hotel owner personally drives... More
