I booked Cowslip Cottage for a quiet break for me and my partner and we were not disappointed. The cottage is very pretty, is furnished extremely well and has everything you could possibly need for a holiday or short break. We were really impressed with the home made cake and bread, eggs and milk that had been left for our...

Thank you for your positive feedback, We will be upgrading the FREE WiFi service to cowslip cottage before next season. We do not include electricity in either cottage as we would encourage people to think of the enviroment and turn lights off as much as possible. As a general rule guests normally use between £5 and £10 of electricity each...

Having travelled from Blackburn after 4pm in winter hours, we would advise others against travelling to the site in darkness to avoid both getting lost and having to navigate the many narrow, steep and winding roads that provide access to the property. This however forms no part of the overall review of the accomodation, many infact might even enjoy the...

Upon arrival, a very warm welcome from Heather and Michael accompanied by tea and cake. The accommodation was so comfortable and spacious and the ensuite was excellent, particularly the power shower. Everwhere was spotlessly clean and Michael and Heather were attentive but not intrusive. Breakfast was quite outstanding with fresh local produce and home made bread. There was always an...

We had a short break in Yorkshire last week and we were very lucky to find this wonderful house. The breakfast was supberb. The hoasts Michael and Heather could not be more helpful. The icing on the cake is the local pub is only a few yards and serves good food and local real ale.

We've enjoyed our 2-night stay which gave us enough time to explore the surrounding and hike over the weekend. The Rectory Farm is a big property where you can find space to park. Remove your shoes when entering the house as it is carpeted everywhere. The room we had was really nice with with tea-making facilities and dressing gowns provided...

A group of us stayed here for a weekend of Mountain Biking. I couldn't fault it. From the welcoming tea and cake on arrival to the fantastic breakfast every morning. The room was lovely, with one of the most comfortable beds ever. There is safe lockup storage for the bikes and an excellent pub that serves good food and ales...

We are both delighted that your family had a great weeks holiday.it was no trouble to make up an extra small bed. The trampoline and table tennis keep all the children occupied and sand pit has been well used all summer. We found Rectory Farm very easily. Heather greeted us on arrival, showed us where to park and welcomed us into her home. Guests are (rightly) expected to swap shoes for slippers immediately on arrival so it’s a good idea to make sure you’ve got a pair to hand. We went into the lounge and Heather re-appeared with a tray of...
