We were a group of six, just eating at the restaurant: very helpful staff - we had walked to the village fete and bought loads of plants during the daytime, allowed to leave them in the grounds, ready to collect in the evening, by car! Lovely setting and despite many people in the restaurant, not too noisy We didn't stay...

We stayed two nights at the Crown which is in the lovely quiet village of Stoke By Nayland as a a birthday treat. Our room was well presented with thoughtful attention to detail, a very comfortable bed and lovely views across the countryside. The breakfast choice was good, no buffet as all is served to you which made a refreshing...

Our room and bathroom were beautifully appointed.Quality and attention to detail were much in evidence.Sophie greeted us and made us feel very welcome in her family's property. We were sorry not to eat in the restaurant as the menu and surroundings looked enticing.

Sunday lunchtime in the crown, very busy, good atmosphere, great service from all the young bar and waiting staff. We chose a super vegetarian tart and the mussels, I also had the recommended wine to accompany the mussels and could not fault either. We would certainly come here again, it's not cheap but I think we'll worth it .

We have stayed here a few times and it never fails to exceed our expectations. The rooms are good as are the fittings, linen and furniture. The food at the adjacent pub is excellent and value for money. One small thing that makes a big impression is the actions of receptionist. Having arrived around 3.00pm we made a cup of...

We entertained friends who were visiting from Surrey. We went for Sunday lunch. As always the place was busy with a great atmosphere. The weather was so good that dining was available outside on the terrace. We ate inside. The service was impeccable and friendly. I ordered Moules Marinier with pan roasted Pollock and spinach all in that classic Moules...

Its one of my friends places to eat and he was paying. I had butterflied mackerel, tasted delicious and not as fishy as l was expecting. What do you do when you get some unexpected bones in your mouth when your in company, l certainly am not going to try and swallow them, an awkward moment. I know mackerel are...
