We went here for my wife's birthday and unfortunately it turned out to be a bit of a disaster. On arrival everyone was friendly and we were shown to our room (room 1) which turned out to be adjacent to a large open room (well room?) where a party for around 30-40 people was booked for the evening. As soon...

We have stayed here several times in the past and always been impressed. We booked this time just for one night as a pre-Christmas treat. We had a lovely evening, the room was spotless and the food was lovely. The best thing about this place is the staff - they are all so welcoming and provide a great service. A...

My wife and I have just returned from a wonderful two night stay at the Angel Inn. The service was exceptional - all staff were friendly, helpful and (although exceptionally busy) always had a smile on their faces. The food was excellent and reasonably priced and our room was very comfortable. It was set up in a romantic style for...

Sister pub at Monks Eleigh is getting better every time I visit whereas thi was really not good today. I had a party of five and we were all disappointed, dry fish and chicken dishes. £15 for a first course sized liver and bacon was rediculous. Looking around most other guest had opted for fish and chips or scampi with chips....

Visited for our weekly date night in October with my husband. Really liked the feel of the place as soon as we stepped through the door. The open fire was going, nice beams, very welcoming feel. We were shown to our table which was in a lovely spot and was busy but not loud which was nice. Menu is very...

Fantastic atmosphere, food, drink and prices. I feel so lucky to have found this lovely place. Have visited for just a drink, a beautiful meal or even stay in one of the amazing rooms at really reasonable prices.

Great setting with a warm welcome from staff. A menu with lots of interesting choices. Dishes were well presented and attractive, but the flavours were average. My Scallops didn't zing in the mouth. The Spatchcock Chicken on a spicy curry theme didn't wow. And the sharing Cheese Board was underwhelming. We enjoyed some great wines.

We were attending a family funeral at 2pm and staying over night. Due to this time it caused a problem re checking in. However the staff were great allowing us to collect the keys early and showing us how to get in if the pub was closed. we arrived back before closing time and were well looked after in the...

We recently stayed here for a 60th Birthday Event which my Mother organised. From the moment we got out of the car we were taken in with the building and its decor. Really lovely setting, very helpful staff who showed us to our rooms. The drinks and canapes were stunning! Each room was slightly different to one another which added...
