Our family recently stayed here to attend a wedding. Our room was located across the street from the main building. We found the room to be very clean and also had a kitchenette on it and was very spacious. The wifi worked great. The restaurant and bar are in the main building. The food was very good and reasonably priced. Very nice affordable hotel!

My wife and I recently stayed at this hotel. The last time we stayed there was probably 20 years ago or longer. As it is an old hotel the rooms are very small however they were extremely clean. There is a restaurant downstairs and a bar also. If you're just looking for a place to put your head down for the night that is clean this is the place and not expensive. There was a small fridge in the room as well as a coffee pot.

Last review I wrote on this hotel was during hunting season. Although the rooms are slightly dated, they are very clean and very affordable. At $88.00 you cannot go wrong for a place to lay your head and get a good night sleep. If you are hoyty toyty, you may not appreciate the value of the room, however it is a place to rest my head. I did just that. I was disappointed last time with the restaurant and the breakfast they served so I went to rookies where I knew I would get a fantastic breaky. Our new staple when we need a place to stay for a night or two.

We have stayed in the Pioneer Hotel a number of times when we have been in town for an overnight. The hotel is an older one but has been renovated and is very clean, comfortable and well worth it for the cost of the night! WE have been there for a funeral and we were given a bereavement rate, which I have heard of before . I also have been given a "medical" rate when I have had to stay over for any medical appointments. The staff is always friendly and very courteous, and the restaurant in the hotel is the best in town . You will not be disappointed with either room or food!

I stayed in many types of hotels. Although the Pioneer is a downtown original which leaves it a little outdated on the decor it for many reasons is a great place to choose if visiting Humboldt. 1)affordable at approximately $100/ night 2)both in-house restaurant and separate pub that have great food for cheap deals. 3)great helpful friendly staff 4)located conveniently downtown near shopping and amenities. I would highly recommend this for adult stays. Not for family as there is no pool or activities.
