I absolutely loved this hotel! We stayed in the romantic suite and it was a dream come true. I would highly recommend this hotel. Views are so beautiful. Had dinner and it was delicious! The rooms were so cozy too. Felt like a real princess living in a castle!

The hotel is a great alternative to the generic hotels and gasthauses in Ansbach (nothing against them, of course). The room is plenty large enough and is the typical dual twins that you can push together for a queen. Breakfast is the traditional German breakfast with cold cuts, cheeses, meats, and bread. Nothing wrong with it if you know what...

We cannot say enough about the facilities and staff that Burg Colmberg has to offer. Our daughter's castle wedding was more than we ever dreamed it could be. We had a party of 51 from the U.S. converge on the castle for the special occasion which included overnight stays. The staff was professional and most helpful throughout the process and...

A great place to take the family, or a romantic getaway. The historical setting and decor was fantastic. The family run hotel , restaurant is warm, friendly and we'll maintained. The restaurant is very good and worth a visit even if you are not a hotel guest.

This is a unique opportunity to stay in an amazing, historical castle, without sacrificing any of the comforts of a great hotel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, designed well to incorporate modern features without spoiling the historic values of the castle.

We stayed in a "historical" room. The room was incredible. If you're going to stay in a castle, we urge you - don't stay in a 'hotel' room. Splurge for the (albeit somewhat spendy) historical rooms. We spent some time exploring the castle. We found an old chapel, a "room of antiquities" with a spinning wheel, an old pedal-organ and...

Highly recommend Burg Colmberg to anyone looking for a nice place to stay near Rothenberg. This hotel provides good lodging, good food, a breathtaking setting, and friendly staff. Dinner was served outdoors on a warm evening, with breakfast indoors the next morning. Loved the dark beer at dinner and liverwurst at breakfast. The view from the castle walls was gorgeous.

The warm welcome of the Unbehauen family made us right at home at the castle. Outside it has everything you'd expect in such a historic place: a big, round tour, tall defensive walls, a well and an impressive gate. Inside lies the true magic: individually furnished Burgstuben with lots of atmosphere, common sitting areas which are tastefully furnished scattered throughout...

It is a castle and plays the part well. What it lacks in historical significance it makes up for with quality of service and themed furnishings. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the meals were excellent as well.
