The grounds are beautiful and the view fantastic. The room was comfortable and updated. Breakfast was good: typical European breakfast menu, fresh food. However, the restaurant was a disappointment for dinner. The staff was snobby. Unfortunately, there is really nowhere else to eat in town. Don't order the "cordon bleu" with pasta. It is very bland.

Hotel Burg Colmberg is a wonderful castle in the countryside. We had a nice dinner and the breakfasts were great. We used Colmberg as a base for day trips. Our room looked out on the countryside and was a wonderful view. You do have some stairs to climb but we found this to be the norm in the towns we... More

We family stayed here for our summer vacation. It was just for a night, but become excellent memory. Rooms were historic but very cute. Of cause nice and clean. Especially the view from the Hotel rooms down to in the early morning, it is beautiful. You can't miss it. Meal was also very nice. This Hotel gave us priceless memory.

A fairy tale setting at a reasonable price. Family atmosphere and great service all around. Great restaurant. Perfect atmosphere for any special occasion. We used the hotel as a base to explore the area. 10 minutes to Rothenberg. Got a parking ticket in Rothenbefg and asked at the hotel how to settle it and they took care of it for... More

Beware, if you arrive to check-in after dinner, you'll be locked out, like we were, so instead of spending a night at this beautiful medieval castle, we ended up in a gas station motel. The reservation e-mail from the hotel did mention to call them if arriving late, but the sentence was worded so mildly, without any urgency and without... More

Whew, this place was fantastic! Everything about it was great! I plan to return! The facility, the food, the scenery, the ambience, the hospitality, the price, etc. were amazing! Our destination was Rothenburg, and the drive from the castle to there was very enjoyable. I love the location and the ambience of this wonderful facility.

Staying at the Hotel Colmberg was a unique experience. How often can you tell friends and family you slept in a castle? The dinner was great and the view was fantastic. My only recommendation is to pack a smaller overnight bag and leave big suitcases in the car.

First let me say what a beautiful place the castle was situated on. The view, the deer roaming around, so picturesque! The castle itself was also a sight to see, not super big (but that's a good thing), and clean. Stayed in the triple room with my husband and 19 year old son. There was plenty of room for all... We visited this beautiful castle in early October. The welcome, help with luggage and friendly staff were excellent. Our room was up on the 3rd floor and did involve a lot of stairs but, they were really interesting stairs and landings, two of which have lovely seating areas if you want to get your breath back. The room was really... More

“Splurge for a "historical" room. The only downside is that you'll have to climb to the third floor, so if stairs are a problem, well, you'll still enjoy a lower room, but may not be able to enjoy all the castle ambience.”
