We kept busy seeing animals everywhere. In camp. on river, during hikes. even saw pygmy elephants. Just make sure you take cash. We did not know, so we were $5 US short when we went to pay our tab & the manager had us driven 1.5 hr to bank & we had to take a bus to next town to...

This lodge is far more basic than many of the hotels and resorts that you may encounter in Borneo. It has a more relaxed, family run feel and lacks the over staffed effusiveness of the larger resorts. The people are also more conservative here. Our room was fairly small and the bathroom was basic, but it was comfortable and perfectly...

Very friendly and helpful staff, pretty basic but you have what you need and the price is good! Loved my stay here, and if I come to that part of the world again I would go for this place again. The guide that took us for tours had great knowledge about the ecosystem and looked like he loved his job...

We stayed two nights at the Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge, the rooms are a little bit dark and basic but Ok, The food was also ok I the evening you have to wear a sharong the staff was very friendly. The best were the boat trips on the river, we saw a lot of Proboscis monkeys also jumping from the trees...

This lodge has road access which Abai does not so we found that the standard of food was better. Rooms were very similar. Bedrooms and bathrooms were basic but perfectly adequate. If you are looking for luxury you are in the wrong kind of place! However like the other lodge we had great service. I did find however that the...

We stayed in several lodges from Sandakan and all along this river. We also stayed in a "posh" lodge in Danum valley (visited by Wills and Kate!) but this one was our favourite! It is very simple. Don't expect luxury or any fancy trimmings, but it feels right! Staff are genuinely friendly and not just "putting on a show". The...

We spent one night at Kinabatangan River Lodge before moving downriver to Abai. The rooms were average to poor. No porterage, warm beer (the norm in most of Borneo). The bathroom was so small we wondered if you could actually stand at the sink, but it was possible by bending your knees around the toilet. The location was fine, right...

Stayed two nights on a river trip. The lodge is well maintained, clean and pleasant. We enjoyed our stop here. Unfortunately once you do your boat trips on the river there isn't a great deal to do here. Though lovely places are set up to sit, rest and look at the river with a drink etc. But nowhere to go...

We stayed here after staying at the Abai Jungle Lodge. Both are well worth a stay with great guides, boat trips, plenty of wildlife and helpful friendly staff. The rooms were basic but clean with plenty of hot water. Buffet food was good. The only disappointing aspect was there was nowhere to walk on your own. Abai has boarded walk...

My friends and I spent one night in the lodge. The staff shown great level of hospitality which make our stay comfortable in the riverside jungle. Upon arrival we met the supervisor Sabran and our guide, Abbas who just finished with his afternoon trip. They were both great staff and let me tell you why. Upon arrival we were so...
