Short review: fantastic, go for it! Long review: Room: we stayed at the BouganVilla, it's simply beautiful, with two large glass-"tiles" on the living room floor so that you can enjoy watching rays, parrot fish, needle fish, etc, swim under the villa at night. the terrace is spacious and has a convenient table for afternoon aperos, two long chaises, and... I have been a diver for over twenty years - dove many places around the world but .. THIS .. IS ..IT! The best diving in the world hands down. The food is good and they have snacks out all day/evening. They have a giftshop that also has snacks, dive stuff, clothes, etc. The rooms are clean and each have... More

We spent a week here and I thought it one of the nicest dedicated dive resorts I'd visited (my wife is a non-diver). We had the Borneo Villa, which is lovely - bigger than a lot of apartments - and only spoiled by being close to a service area; I don't mind the staff chatting away out of sight while... More

We embarked on a much anticipated trip to Sipadan in August 2012. I'm not going to harp in about what other reviewers have mentioned regarding the lack of transparency with dive permits eyc because I agree with them wholeheartedly. There is no transparency and it's pretty much on the whim of management that we got more than our 'allocated' one... More

We booked an 8D/7N stay to be guaranteed one day of diving at Sipadan. We were allocated 2 days at Sipadan, although they did initially offer an extra day for MYR550 at a huge profit! They asked me to do 2 orientation dives (even though I'm advanced) so not only was I going to miss 2 pre-paid dives, they wanted... More

The water bungalow was stayed in (next to the bougain villa) was great with good views and aircon. Not too sure about the new strucutrues being built being an eyesore - they are a distant away and as yet only just starting to be built. They certainly didnt detract from our holiday. The food at the resort is excellent -... More

We were on a four country tour and stopped at the water bungalows to dive Sipadan. We just finished up in Bali which was really great diving. This was a long trip through KL and overnight to catch the boat out to the resort. Fantasic resort and seemingly more suited for couples or a honeymoon type deal. The staff was... More

Our stay last week at the Mabul Water Bungalows (MWB) did not meet our expectations – in one way positive, and the other negative. We had read that the hotel (+ meals & service) had relatively mixed reviews. Yet on the positive side, we found it to be quite a pleasant stay with meals being quite nice with a good... More

We booked the Bougainvilla suite which is basically a large villa, very nice but not for much longer because while we were there they started construction of a new resort that is going to spoil the unspoilt ocean views that is has/had, i already found the constant pounding noise from the construction quite annoying - it's the last thing you... The hotel is in a beautiful setting out over shallow water. Each bungalow is separate so you have a lot of privacy. Sitting on the balcony looking at the fish in the water below was wonderful. There is a/c so you actually dry out at the end of a full day of diving. I have a mixed report about the... More
