This was by far the worst cottage experience we've ever had. I couldn't imagine that Canada's supposedly 3-star accommodation could be worse than 2-star Cuba. I could have overlooked the highway noise, or lack of 'swimming friendly' water, because it was mostly seaweed, BUT the filth of the cottage was more than I could handle. Cobwebs were the LEAST of our worries - the entire place just looked like it hadn't been cleaned in AGES!!! Grime and hair everywhere. Broken door handles; dead squished mosquitoes/flies stuck to the walls; smelly rooms, are just a few of the top-of-the-list items that describe this less than adequate accommodation. Definitely not worth a penny. Met a couple of other visitors that were equally disappointed and would never return.

We booked 3 rooms for families with 2 and 3 kids. We had the booking prices printed. Both receptionist and GM tried to make us pay more than our reservation stated, $10 p/night for each child above 10y/o (this extra charge wasn't posted on the website).
They kept complaining that we're too many people although we never hid a # of coming guests. Each room offers 5 sleeps, but having 5 quests it's too much apparently.
Each room has only 2 small and thin shower towels. One member of each family had to go and ask for more towels and hear how many of us came.
The rooms were full of bugs and cobwebs. The bulb in the shower didn't work.
The free canoes and lifejackets very dated, like this cheap motel.
The A/C was extremely noisy.
A few hours after check-out we received a phone that the towels are dirty and they'll charge the credit card$10 for each towel.

I go here at least once a yr. For the price you cant beat it. Great for the guys that want to go fishing. Rooms are clean. Property is well kept. My car broke down, and I couldnt take my boat home. I was unable to take my boat back with the car being towed . They let me keep the boat there till I can get back up there. Thats making things. much easier for me. They did their best to help me out.

Standard of accommodation very poor for the price. Room is dark and dinghy. TV doesn’t work. No WiFi outside the room. Decent size fridge and sink in kitchen but utensils were mismatched and not clean. Insects and mosquitoes outside on the patio area. Beach area next to rubbish bin. Stayed one night - couldn’t wait to leave.

This was by far the grossest, most filthy place we have ever stayed. It is beyond disbelief how unclean the rooms are. Cobwebs EVERYWHERE, absolutely filthy floors, walls, bathroom etc. Great location but there are clearly no housekeepers. At one time we were told it was a quaint, clean place to stay but since it is under new ownership, it is awful. Such a shame. Stuff running down the walls, grime in every corner, even the soap pump was covered in some sort of filth. We wore our shoes the entire time. When we complained we were told it is a resort so it doesn't need to be clean?? All I can say is, DON'T stay here. Stay in the Tay Motel instead ( writing this review from a room there, as we just switched for our last night ). Much better for the price.

Thank you for asking! Sorry, we don't rent fishing pole, you need to bring your own fishing staff. I saw many people catching fish around dock, including bass / pike / walleye / bowfin / perch / catfish / sunfish. But if you... More
