Retreat Wilderness Inn is an All Season destination, offering intimate, four star suites. With over 40 years experience operating this property, your hosts, Donn and Lee will assist in making your vacation one to remember. Our picturesque, landscaped, lakefront grounds provide an amazing setting for relaxing on the patio or watching the sunset on the waterfront deck as the loons sing their soulful call. Our guests are welcome to use our paddle boards or kayaks and we also provide fishing boat rentals. The Chilcotin Region, where distancing comes naturally, is British Columbia’s last frontier, a true wilderness and back country. Situated between the Fraser River and the Coast Mountains, gateway to the Great Bear Rainforest, this region provides some of the most diverse opportunities for outdoor recreation and Nimpo Lake is part of this enchanting area. The nearby forested community trails are perfect for hiking, mountain biking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, photography & bird watching. The viewpoints on these trails have breathtaking, expansive views of the ranchlands, forests and Coast Mountains. Guests can take advantage of a flightseeing tour and have a birds' eye view of Hunlen Falls, Rainbow Mountains and the Monarch Icefields. The rare white pelican, bald eagles, loons and river otters are just some of the diverse species that you will find locally. A short, 2 hour drive down the famous Hill, or Freedom Highway, is the Bella Coola Valley and the Great Bear Rainforest. Don't forget your camera as you transition from pine plateau to coastal rainforest, as there will be many photo opportunities along the way including grizzly bears and snow capped mountains. This diverse region is a must on your bucket list & we would love to be your hosts.

This was by far one of the nicest, cleanest and most up-to-date rooms that I have ever stayed in. The Inn is beautiful inside and out and is perfectly situated right on Nimpo Lake, surrounded by picturesque and relaxing grounds. During the off-season, there is not even a sound at night, so it is the perfect place for rest and relaxation. The Inn is located right on Highway 20, so it is very easy to find and is conveniently located directly across from the General Store. It is only a twenty minute drive from Anahim Lake. There is an excellent trail network located two blocks east of the hotel. I would recommend this Inn to anyone who is needing absolute peace and quiet.

Beautifully situated on Nimpo Lake, our room was great, grounds were stunning and we especially enjoyed the waterfront gazebo for reading and relaxing. Having the use of the barbecue was a bonus and the hosts were friendly and helpful One small negative was the discoloured water when we filled the jet tub. Not a deal-breaker as we would stay here again

We had an incredible two nights at Nimpo Lake and wished we could have stayed longer. Our room was perfect - the grounds are gorgeous - Donn and Lee were such wonderful hosts. The scenery by the lake was so beautiful and we could have spent all day just sitting by the water, watching the loons and the chipmunks. Do you get impression we loved it? We will be back for sure!

What a treat! Absolutely gorgeous lakefront hideaway. Hosts Don and Lee were very welcoming and accommodating for our three night stay. We stayed in a lovely chalet, complete with loft, jet tub and beautiful sundeck. Immaculately clean and well appointed - a must visit. We look forward to returning!

I travel to many communities around the province for my job and stay in typical road side motels. Staying at this establishment was a very pleasant surprise. Very nice rooms Extraordinarily clean. Very quiet. Very comfortable bed.

The Retreat Wilderness Inn delivers a complete wow factor on arrival. Seemingly in the middle of nowhere, you find yourself in a charming, tasteful guestroom overlooking an almost impossibly beautiful vista. The silence is powerful, and the serenity kicks in pretty instantly! Donn and Lee are the most gracious of hosts - we so enjoyed talking to them and learning how their magnificent property had come into existence. Our only regret is that we did not stay longer ..... so if you ever find yourself in this part of the world, don't drive through. I guarantee a stay at the Retreat will be the highlight of your trip! Thankyou Donn and Lee so much for your generous hospitality....

My sister and I visited the Retreat Wilderness Inn June 2019. It was the perfect getaway from the everyday. We enjoyed our beautiful suite that overlooked the lake, it provided all the amenities to let us stay put for the weekend. We spent an entire day on the dock just relaxing and recharging. We booked a flight-see over Hunlen Falls that Donn took time to walk us over to and enlightened us on a bit of history. The entire experience was one we will never forget! Thanks Donn & Lee. We plan to book here again, an experience you don’t want to miss out on.

Very relaxing place to stay. Hosts Donn and Lee are amazing people. Rooms are very clean, beds super comfortable and property is breathtaking any time of year. I have had the pleasure of staying in all seasons and there is beauty to be admired and enjoyed in every one, from skidooing on the lake in the winter to kayaking on the lake in summer.

What a delight, we only wanted to stay overnight but ended up staying for several days. If you want to see Hunlen Falls and the Turner Lake system by flying over a fantastic glacier well guess what, the float plane service is right next door. The owners are delightful with all sorts of information about the area, Ron and Lee thank-you for everything. The rooms are first class and the resort has amazing grounds with all kinds of interesting plants..........
