A comfortable, warm and welcoming bed and breakfast . The proprietor was friendly and just enough knowledgeable for American tourists. The breakfast was delicious and filling And the house, beautifully renovated and maintained, on the banks of the bay, felt like home. My only regret was not staying there longer.
I think that this is really the only place to stay in Maitland proper. We wanted to see the tidal bore at the Fundy Tidal Interpretive Center in South Maitland so chose this place to stay afterwards. We were very happy with the choice. Cresthaven is a beautiful old house located right where the Shubenacadie River meets the Bay of Fundy. The front porch is a stone's throw from the water, with bald eagles nesting in the tree nearby. Our room (Chestnut) was spacious and very comfortable with a small fridge. The inn keepers are personable and helpful with local advice. Breakfast was delicious. You can walk a few blocks into town for a simple pub meal.
Charming, comfortable and with amazing views of the Bay of Fundy, Warren has created the perfect place to stop for a night or two and enjoy the area. We were only there for a night and wish we had booked two so we could enjoy the majestic views and watch the tides come and go. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is delish.
A memorable place to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We were concerned that we wouldn't fine a restaurant in the area because we were traveling off-season. Thankfully, the owner recommended an amazing restaurant for dinner in nearby Truro. This small gesture of being referred to the restaurant was a lifesaver and made out stay at Cresthaven by the Sea even more memorable. The B&B property is a real gem with amazing views of the Bay of Fundy. The common living area is warm, inviting with and very comfortable; we had the whole place to ourselves. The owner had even made a fire in the fireplace just for us. Our bedroom was spacious; we couldn't ask for better. The B&B is well maintained, clean, and nicely decorated, breakfast was great too! I certainly recommend Cresthaven by the Sea. …
We really enjoyed our time here. My husband and I were looking for a place to stay to check out the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia. And this place was perfect. When we arrived the tide was starting to go out and it was amazing watching this over hours in this beautiful yard. I found it so amazing to see how different the area looked when the water was completely out. Our hosts were wonderful. So full of knowledge. He answered so many of our questions and gave us advice for things to see and at what time. The room was great. The breakfast was delicious. And our host even made us a fire in the common area for when we finally came inside. I can't express how much we just enjoyed sitting out in the yard after being in the car for so many days. This was our 1st B&B experience. We usually do hotels or a VRBO. I hope all B&B's are as great as this 1.…
We spent 2 nights in this quiet country inn in August 2021. The historic home is beautiful, and lovingly maintained. Our room was very clean, comfortable and cheery. The location of the inn is stunning--right on the shores of Cobequid Bay, where Fundy tides are highest. The expanse of sea and sky that greets your eye is stunning. We saw bald eagles, sandpipers, gulls and willets. We sat outside at night watching the Perseid meteor showers. Breakfast was wonderful, and we took Warren's advice for our day trip along the coast--every suggested stop was a delight.
If you’ve never visited the Bay of Fundy/tidal bore and surrounding area you really should as it one of the wonders of the world. Cresthaven By The Sea is an idyllic spot to spend one or two nights while you explore the area and gaze at the magnificent view from your Adirondack chair. Eagles sit literally in the tree next to you hunting for their next meal with an occasional call. Warren can answer any of your questions and is a lovely host and their is even an adorable cafe two minutes away. One has the feeling of sitting at the edge of the world here as you watch the tides ebb and flow.
I spent a wonderful three days at this property. The accommodations were very clean and quiet. With only three rooms, it was very cozy. The breakfast each morning was delicious! Very knowledgeable hosts, will be happy to stay here again. Sitting right on the water, the location is perfect.
Delightful B&B, place is spotless, the hosts were wonderful and breakfast was great. They took my food allergies into account and couldn’t do enough for us. The view of the Bay of Fundy was right outside the door.
This B&B was completely charming. Warren was a wealth of information about the tides, and when and where to best view the tidal bore. We got our best view sitting on his porch, much better than what we saw at the Fundy Tidal Interpretive Center. Additionally, you are bout 20 minutes from Burnt Coate, a great place to be at low tide! Breakfast was plentiful and very good---especially his fruit (he gets from local farmers). Warren is also very flexible with breakfast and checkout times as he understands that most are there for tide viewing. The porch is also a good place for viewing the bald eagles as the tides change. Very comfortable accommodation.
