The lodge was amazing, absolute luxury. Our guide, Ngame was fantatstic - great knowledge pf the animals, the environment and the history - he really went the extra mile to make our safaris memorable. Groups were small and we saw so many animals. The staff were all attentive and friendly and the food fantastic. Getting to share the adventure with...

From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel very welcome and we had a great time. Our own lodge with everything we could possibly want including private terrace, plunge pool and mini bar. The food was great and we always were offered plenty to drink with all our meals. We had Mnoni as our safari ranger and he...

Have never been anywhere like this so had no idea what to expect. From arrival we were greeted, our bags taken to our room, checked in, advised on what to expect and given a refreshing drink. It was searingly hot and we were also offered sun cream and told to relax before the first drive in a few hours time....

Absolutely brilliant. We had our own little 'house' in African style it was so lovely. The food was very good and the dining room very atmospheric. The staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. On evening they treated us to African singing and dancing which was fantastic. It was all inclusive so a real holiday. The Game drive...

Arrived at the lodge with the highest of expectations - reviews that we had read were fabulous! As soon as we arrived we were treated like royalty. The lodge was lovely with everything you could want. We went off on our safari soon after arriving. The weather was shocking (thunderstorm) and we were soaked through, however it did not stop...

We have just returned from our first visit to SA and loved all of it, however special mention must go to our experience at Safari Lodge. We were recommended by friends and they were right -it's superb. I won't repeat the many other plaudits on this site but a couple of things are worth a mention. Our ranger Mnoni with...

The lodge is situated within the game park in the Northern Territory therefore from your balcony there is the possibility of encountering Buffalo, Giraffe, Nyala and other antelope and also if you are lucky Norman the bull African Elephant. The Southern part of the reserve accessible by a tunnel under the main road currently has 9 cheetah, 4 lions and...

I cannot even begin to explain how incredible my time was at Amakhala. The safari lodge is stunning along with the food and service! I couldn't fault a thing. This was my boyfriends 30th birthday present and boy did they deliver. They do apparently have the big 5 but the leopard hasn't been seen in a couple of months but...

We spent a day (and a night) at the Amakhala Lodge. We had read about the lodge on Tripadvisor and had seen pictures of it and I expected it to be a great experience, but everything was so much more than we expected. After three long flights and a drive it was like coming to a peace of heaven when...

Two years ago we stayed at a Sharmari game lodge, next door, which is a bigger private reserve (17,000 vs 7,000) but we enjoyed this just as much. Great service, clean rooms, good food, good guides, many animals. Not as much driving but same routine of morning (5:30) and afternoon (4:00) for three hours with a break for coffee or...
