Without a doubt this was the highlight of our 3 week holiday in South Africa organised for us by Audley Travel. It was so memorable that is not possible to summarise a review in just a few words. Amakhala is a small private game reserve about an hour's drive from Port Elizabeth. We were met by our butler, Thando, who...

A really lovely location. The rooms are good sized lodges set well apart, with good facilities including an outdoor shower (as well as an indoor one) and a private deck overlooking the bush. On day 2 we went out onto the deck at 8 am and there were 6 giraffes in full view. very friendly staff and great food. On...

A wonderful four days of great safari rides (6am and 4pm daily) - rhinos, elephants, cheetahs, lions, buffalo and cheeky warthogs - and lovely accommodation. Food and hospitality amazing. From the moment one arrives the staff and rangers take care of everything. A great experience.

We enjoyed a wonderful 3- night safari here in January 2016. It's one of several lodges on the Amakhala private reserve and offers a good level of luxury with pleasant, attentive staff and great safari guides. Our bungalow (#6 - Ant Lion) had separate sleeping and sitting areas, a good bathroom with tub overlooking the bush and double outside shower,...

My partner and I spent one night at Safari Lodge at the end of our trip to South Africa. We had a lovely time. The accommodation was very good, the staff attentive, game drives great and food nice. Would recommend to anyone looking for a reasonably priced luxury stay at a private game reserve.
