Food nothing special, very poor menu, stark choice of variety, I had the ribs which was a good helping, but was over sauced, and quite sickly. I did find that the service was very good, and because of this I have given 3 stars.

We stayed one night, and had a really good time. The hotel is a little strange to get into, entering via the court yard of The Black Pig Inn, which adjoins the Ship Hotel. But once Adrian the owner, was found by the locals in the pub, all was well. Good comfortable room(if you don't like traffic noise ask for a...

On arrival, I wondered if we'd made the right choice. There was no on the street front of hotel entrance so we entered through the old courtyard entrance to find a super micro brewery which was attached the to hotel. It was like stepping back in time to the days of the old inns, I expected to find smuggling gangs...

Nice Hotel, nice food and nice staff. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel it is in a very quiet village surrounded by stunning countryside. There is also a nice pub next door called the The Black Pig which belongs to the hotel. They do real ale and local cider which I can highly recommend.

We stayed just the one night here. The room was large; the bed was extremely comfortable - very important! Adrian was a first class host from the minute we arrived to our leaving the next day. Excellent food; the mushroom and leek stroganoff was delicious; the ribs too were delicious but the smaller portion would be sufficient for ordinary mortals....

Visited with friends whilst staying in the area. It doesn't look much from the outside but we had 3 excellent bar meals with very friendly service and excellent value for money at less than £10 for a large main course meal .

Having just moved to the village we are anxious yo try out the new eateries and pubs. What a lovely surprise we had on Father's Day lunch, roasts were very good but the starters were amazing. Baked Camembert with garlic and fresh bread. Pate beautifully presented. The soup of the day was Mediterranean vegetable with lentils. The service was beyond...

From the moment of our arrival to our departure we were made to feel very welcome. We fully agree with the previous complimentary reviews, Adrian is the perfect host recommending walks, view points, food and drink. The "Black pig bar" is a true bonus with a selection of good real cask ales and ciders at sensible prices !

Stayed for 3nights in the spacious lovely room at the top. Views over to the Severn. Comfy King-size, four-poster bed with a gorgeous embroidered and beaded bedspread.
