Shortly after arriving, it became evident how kind and friendly the owners are. The rooms and quaint and cozy, and the owners are quick to address concerns. The rooms are quieter than I expected, given the location. Don't expect a chain hotel - the bathtubs have spray nozzles to shower with, and there aren't TV's in the rooms, but you do have Wi-Fi throughout the building, and there are nice, welcoming common areas. The backyard features a nice walking trail down to the river, and the breakfast sunroom is very peaceful. Breakfasts were a highlight not only of our stay, but our entire trip, for offering a healthy, balanced, homemade meal, that readily accommodated our vegan request. The owners are happy to help with suggestions for local activities or make reservations. This was an outstanding B&B that we were lucky to come across!…
We have stayed at The Blue Iris many times and after visiting this week, we find that it just gets better and better. The inn is beautifully decorated with lovely rooms, wonderfully comfortable beds and sheets, and a peaceful atmosphere in the sitting rooms and the gorgeous garden. The hosts are wonderful and thoughtful--and such a good, big breakfast. If you're enjoying the eastern townships area of Quebec, stay at this beautiful inn.
This is our second visit in 3 years. Three 50+ girlfriends for ever. Like a pilgrimage we visit the grave of a sister, a convent attended by one of us, the little towns of the Eastern Townships, favorite stores in Magog, Main Street in Knowlton but most of all spend 2 nights at l'IRis Bleu, a small B&B hosted by the owners Ginette and Gérôme, a quarky couple who treat the guests with elegance, refinement, humour and deligence and are more than helpful to inform and explain about the highlights of the region. The rooms are quaint and extra clean. The breakfast is copious and extremely delightful. I highly recommend this Auberge. We had a lot of fun!
We were looking for something close to Jay Peak Resort but were unable to find a room at the last minute so ended up staying here (about 20 miles from Jay Peak). We called and told we would be late and the hosts were very gracious about our late check in. The rooms are very comfortably appointed. Our room, and in fact the whole inn, was beautifully decorated with interesting art work. The delicious breakfast was served in a lovely room which made me want to spend the day there.
We stayed at l'Iris bleu for two days. The hosts were outstanding, very nice. The breakfast was copious and good and the rooms charming. An outstanding place in a charming locality. Ideal for visiting the Eastern Townships.
