We stayed here as a stop over in our drive down to the Alps. All the staff were lovely, polite and helpful. We were given an upgrade to a suite which was lovely. The room was very comfortable and everything you would expect. Dinner in the Michelin starred restaurant was really good and the staff were very helpful with finding gluten free options and providing alternatives for the canapés. Breakfast was good. They provided gluten free bread which was better homemade and much better than shop bought. Very happy with our stay

This place is stunning, both the grounds and the chateau itself. The beds are very comfortable, the staff is helpful and friendly, and the scenery is amazing! My only feedback is that the breakfast could use a little upgrading and the food is expensive, but other than that, it’s really worth staying there a night or two. It’s extraordinary!

Beautiful French Chateau visit! My husband and I were upgraded to Chambre No. 5 and had the most incredible views.

We ate at La Capella, the on-site 2018 Michelin restaurant and it was perfection and extremely good value. We met even had the opportunity to meet the chef. Our wine at dinner recommended by the sommelier, Domaine Nicolas Gonin (Monteuse), was so light and flavorful that we decided to visit the tiny vineyard the next day for a tasting (and to buy a few bottles!)

We also had an amazing sleep with the blackout curtains and stunning four poster bed.

We arrived later than usual to breakfast (about 9:30) and it felt like it was picked over a bit. After some prompting they were agreed to make more eggs, sausages, and bacon for us and a few other guests who arrived after us. Also good selection of breads, pastries, yogurts.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Beautiful place; Absolutely disgraceful service. Or it would be disgraceful if there was any!!!!
This is meant to be a luxury hotel???
Booked into hotel for two nights on our way home after touring Italian lakes. The idea was to have a relaxing day by the pool & soak up the chateau's atmosphere. Arrived about 7pm due to traffic delays. There are two flights of stairs up to reception from outside. The guy who checked us in watched as we carried our luggage, no attempt to assist or to call for assistance. After checking in we were shown to our room, west facing, the sun had been on the room all afternoon & it was like an oven. (There is no air conditioning) we had booked a "prestige" room; The bathroom & toilet were separate which means you have to leave the toilet to go to the bathroom to wash your hands, hardly hygienic, the shower is situated about 500 mm up from the bath, the only way to have a shower & not soak the room is to sit in the bath, I stopped doing that when I was 3......!
The view from this so called prestige room was of some trees, however if you looked down you will find some old mattresses rotting outside, simply wonderful..............(see pictures)
The next day we wondered down to breakfast, there was nobody about so we had to sort everything out for ourselves.
Eventually somebody arrived & asked if there was anything we needed, by this time we had finished.
After breakfast we got our books & wondered off to find somewhere to relax by the pool, we found that some sort of convention/ conference was taking place & the pool area was surrounded by about 40 people, my wife sat on the terrace, whilst I went to ask if there was anywhere more private, whilst I was waiting for the reception staff to get off the phone, my wife arrived very upset having been told rather rudely that she could not sit there & had to move as all the tables were being set for the conference people. At no time were either of us offered any assistance, apology, or advice on what to do.
I asked to see the manager & was informed he was not in. We decided to leave, I said I would not pay for the second night & asked for a reduction on our first due to the trouble, I was told a reduction was not possible but I would not have to pay the second night.
My wife & I both speak French so this was not a translation problem.
It is obvious that when a conference is booked in to the hotel they take precedence over any paying guests.
Until these people sort their priorities out I would avoid this place like the plague!

We booked into this wonderful looking Chateau on our way across France. We were looking forward to a relaxing stay and good food. We arrived to very stuffy staff it might have been that we were British and didn't speak much French, but the attitude was not good. We were shown to our room which was the middle cost room there were three prices. What a disaster, the room was pokey and in need of some serious refurbishment. The curtains were actually shredded and torn, why weren't they replaced ? There was no air conditioning it was truly awful. One would wonder what the lower priced rooms were like ? We ate in the dining room in the evening and found the food to be very good, but very little of it. Breakfast in the morning was something out of a comedy. It was truly awful. The food available was a few croissants a little cheese and some ham. There were no cleared tables when we arrived just earlier peoples breakfast things. We asked for a table from the one server. He cleared of the crockery, but never came back to clean the table so we ended up sitting down on a messy table. There was truly hardly anything worth having. They priced their breakfasts at 15 euros each. I would not have paid 5 euros in a café for what we had. We left after receiving a large bill the next morning after a bad night in a hot room. NEVER TO GO BACK

We had originally chosen this venue for its beautiful unique location and friendly event planner. Unfortunately, six months before the event, we received news that one of the rooms that came with our package had been turned into a banqueting kitchen and that our event planner had quit. The venue did not offer anything in compensation for these changes.

We had provided the event planner with set up lists and gone over these lists line item by line item. The day of the venue, many of the items were set up incorrectly or missing altogether-- like table clothes and chair covers in the banquet hall.

They also tried to enforce newer contract regulations that were not part of our contract. These items included an extra 2Euros per person to attend the event (not on our original contract but magically appeared on our invoice the day before the event) and having us leave a larger deposit.

The night before our event, there was already about half of our group staying onsite. Some members of our group had reported that they saw figures running around in the garden. They reported it to the front desk night manager. His response was "not my problem, my shift ends in 30 minutes". The next day, we found out that these individuals had stolen license plates from our cars.

The day of our event, the venue set up chairs in the wrong direction, at 11:30, the venue still had not cleaned up breakfast in order for us to decorate the banquet hall.

The most frustrating things was the lack of service provided by the property. The chateau provided 2 servers for 80 guests. They did not ask guests what they wanted to drink, so although we had paid for a beverage package our guests were aware that this was an option.

Although the venue is beautiful and the rooms comfy, the lack of service, and the lack of professionalism made or experience there horrible. The number of things that were promised but not honored made us deeply regret choosing this venue.

Although it looks inviting and romantic in photos and from the nearby road, our stay at Chateau Chapeau Cornu proved very disappointing. The rooms are small with limited facilities. Walls shake when neighbours' doors close. During our 3 day stay, there was a large convention group that played children's games in the grounds and a group of school children were also running around noisily. The only food available in the restaurant is expensive and pretetious degustation style which is completely inconsistent with an atmosphere that is similar to a McDonalds playground

We booked a package deal with the degustation menu. When we arrived they had upgraded our room to a lovely king size double with a fantastic view over the countryside. The menu wasn't really a tasting menu but was a wonderfully presented six course menu that tasted lovely. The local wine and version of Kir royale were superb. The whole hotel is set in a delightful chateau with a fantastic ambience but there were areas that were run down. Our bathroom was tiny with a minuscule bath and a waist height shower and the paint behind the door was peeling off. But there was evidence of renovation work going on so hopefully they'll get round to upgrading the paintwork where it needs it. Overall a very romantic and relaxing place. Would love to go back in the summer to try the pool.

Staying in this lovely chateau looks very nice form all the pictures one sees. However in this hot summer there is no escaping the heat. My room temp was above all acceptable levels. The shower and toilet are not really up to the standard you would expect. The pool and its surrounding restaurants are very pleasing. I will review the restaurant separately.

Disorganized, unreliable and inconsistent! Amateur staff. Worst decision to choose Chateau Chapeau Cornu. They are unable to deliver the experience they advertise and promote.

If you want a stress-free location look elsewhere. Pay more for Chateau Bagnols.

Une grande salle était en réfection lors de mon passage. Je ne sais combien pourront y tenir ! Il y a une bien belle terrasse "pour les beaux jours bien sur" et un grand parc avec piscine, plan d'eau. Site bien accueillant.
