Just got back from a lovely weekend here and stayed in the garden suite. The spa bath is delightful after a days walking. Alan was a perfect host and told us the local walks. Breakfast was beautiful and hearty. A great Base to explore the Peak District.

Stayed here for two nights on an annual visit to Matlock Bath for the illuminations. Allan the host was very welcoming and helpful. The rooms were quirky, full of interesting artefacts and pictures - felt like you were staying in someone's home. Very clean and massive bathroom. Breakfast was great. The gardens are the real jewel - it was a...

Visited Cascades Garden on 25th June. The garden has been created lovingly by the owner over the last 20 years and is a real gem. A "must see" for all garden lovers visiting the area. We will certainly return.

Thanks for your review. After 20 years we are particularly pleased with the way the garden looks this year. Every part of the 4 acres has something beautiful, natural and interesting going on. It is a magnet for birds and butterflies. Even the Hogweed (our number one garden enemy) looks majestic!

This b&b is ideally located for touring around the Derwent Valley and also trips to Chatsworth, Bakewell and Buxton. The rooms are all themed from the owners travels to the far east, breakfast is cooked fresh for the time you request and the house sits in 2 acres of beautifully maintained gardens with small water falls and a huge variety...

Stayed for two nights in the India suite, very comfortable and spacious rooms on first floor with a bay window overlooking the front of the property. The rooms were spotless and the bedding had a lovely freshness. Totally full of character and plenty of interesting pictures and ornaments in keeping with the style of the property and reflecting the travels...

Good to see you Steve and Allyson and thank you for your review. As you say our house has themed rooms; the Garden suite, India suite and Tibet suite, full of art and carvings from my travels in these areas. India and Tibet are two of my favourite places and I have had great adventures there and met many interesting...

Place was really nice just a few niggles which detracted from what could have been a perfect stay... We stayed in the garden suite which is a stand alone building.. It smelt a tad damp but that could have been due to cold temp outside (it had snowed) paired with the condensation and heaters on full... Other than that the...

Glad you found our Garden Suite really nice and the jacuzzi bath lovely. Being a seperate building in the garden, this suite is very quiet and private. The windows have very effective blinds to ensure privacy, provided that they are properly closed, tight with the blades in the upward direction. Had you mentioned your concern during your stay we would...

We went for our 25th wedding anniversary. Our garden room was in an old stable so separate to the house. It was just perfect, comfy doublebed, a spa bath for two which we loved and beautifully decorated. Alan the owner was very informative and friendly and we had a lovely breakfast in the morning. The village of Bonsall is picturesque,...

Lovely to see you and to hear that your 25th wedding anniversary stay with us was just perfect. As you will have discovered, we have nearby some great restaurants: Thai, Italian, Chinese, Indian and some great pubs. Of course, here in Derbyshire, the locals like chips with everything! Hope to see you again soon. Alan

We went to this lovely garden today and it is lovely.Nestled in a little cliff side valley, the Cascades has a The Bonsall Brook running through it although it was just a trickle in this dry year. We chatted to the owner who created the garden from "a jungle " over the past 20 years . At £4 , the...
