Stayed for one night at the Bedingfeld Arms, have previously stayed several times over the past few years which have been enjoyable. This visit however was disappointing, it took a good 10-15 minutes to check in as no one knew what room I was to be put in due to a new check in process they had installed. I was...

Came here after visiting the local NT property 100 yards away. We had sandwiches only plus drinks. Very prompt and friendly service in a busy bar/restaurant. Orders taken at the table. The sandwiches were excellent and were FULL of whatever contents you ordered plus good quality potato crisps, fresh salad with appropriate sauce/olive oil drizzled over. Cooked food on other...

We came to the bedingfeld arms to celebrate a birthday, and had a lovely time, good pub food, nice staff, excellent service and a lovely breakfast, rooms were large( in the house) definitely a shabby chic feel, arranged well.

The food offering at the NT property across the road was pitiful so dropped in here for a lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Pretty busy at 2.30 but we got a table and a very nice lunch. The pub has been spruced up a bit and offers a modern take on pub food. Not too expensive and good quality. Young...

Six of us assembled for a birthday party dinner with overnight stay. Rooms were comfortable (especially the bed) and well equipped. Being in a lovely village everywhere was quiet so a great nights sleep resulted. Our evening meal was really excellent with swift discreet service. Breakfast was cooked to order - just fantastic. And Oxburgh Hall (National Trust) is literally...

After visiting oxburgh hall we pulled in the car park. We hadn't booked a table but was shown to stable straight away. Given menus and a large bottle of water. Ordered the lamb which was presented beautifully. Really enjoyed our visit., Set in a wonderful setting.

We only had a one night stay but wish it could have been longer. We all stayed in the main building in the three rooms overlooking the front. The rooms are all individually furnished, very comfortable and quiet. We received a warm welcome from the staff. We arrived quite early and had a sandwich lunch (excellent) by the roaring fire...

Dear Meg055 Thank you for personally introducing your friends to our fine coaching Inn - we have spent now 5 years and more in turning it into a 'worth a detour' from a boarded up, abandoned building for a year and 6 owners in the previous 9 years. It still could be a big risk but we are managing to...

My wife & I returned to the Bedingfield with friends to celebrate a birthday - we were not to be disappointed. After a friendly welcome from the staff in the well stocked bar, we were shown to our table in one of the pleasant eating areas of this fine old coaching inn. In keeping with the rest of the building,...

Dear John H Your review is one of the ones I would like to frame! It makes us all feel it is worthwhile trying to please so many guests with different needs and expectations. I also delight in the fact that you could hand over the organisation of celebrating an important birthday and enjoy being part of the occasion rather...

We stayed here for one night as we were guests at a nearby wedding. The staff were helpful on arrival when helping to arrange our taxi and transport. The room was dark but adequate size with a large comfy bed and large shower. I only awarded three stars as the breakfast service was very slow. There was only one other...

Dear Tanya T Thank you for the feedback which we have had time to work on. New staff have been interviewed and have recently started in their new positions here so we look forward to seeing many aspects such as you encountered, being addressed efficiently. Having a vision and trying to implement it is not an easy challenge but I...

The Beddingfield Arms, Oxborough, is not an inn/restaurant you are likely to come across by accident, sitting as it does on B roads between the Fens and the Brecks. But this elegant former coaching inn, with its sophisticated modern oak and stone extension and veranda, is well worth the effort of a detour. The relaxing bar – sofas, open fire...

Dear Brian_Human You certainly wax lyrical when it comes to descriptions! I am glad so much added up to being worth the detour - certainly, our aim. I have just received an enquiry about our John Lennon statue for a book being compiled for a gallery in Liverpool - on Lennon statues around the world! I always thought the statue...
