If you are a Diasporan Armenian or a foreigner, I think you might like this place and get a good service (as long as you don't look local). However, as a local, they can even reject you service. Unfortunately, ruins can be rebuilt and americanos and espressos can be introduces into menus, but attitudes are not that easy to change....

We had heard two negative reviews of the restaurant at Tufenkian Dilijan complex, but we hedged our bets and tried it anyway. We greatly enjoyed the food! We asked the servers about each dish. Each one was explained to us, the ingredients, etc. We especially loved the pumpkin soup.

I love the Tufenkian Dilijan complex. I spent at least one weekend a year there. The owners did a fine job of preserving an old street with its surrounding stone buildings with beautiful wooden caucasian balconies. The location is scenic, the view of Dilijan's mountains is fantastic and the service is perfect. The staff are always pleasant and helpful, while...

The complex is really beautiful- taking you back to what this region would have been like centuries ago. The staff were really friendly and hospitable. The heating in the room was not controlled individually and it got too hot at night so ask about this when choosing your room.

Excellent food. Armenian-persian-whatever crossover. Good wines. Friendly service. Nice location with great view. Base for hiking to see near by mountains. DiliJan was a "kurort" on soviet times and is open air museum of these times.

This complex is so lovely, nestled above the town of Dilijan. There are nice craft shops with local products and some artisans working on crafts within, restaurants and views of the town below. Well worth a visit.

My wife and I stayed here on a recent visit to Dilijan. Our room was very comfortable with a lovely balcony and a very comfortable bed. The staff was accommodating and helped up plan a local excursion to a winery and a monastery. I would definitely recommend this boutique chain.

“The rooms of the suite plus the balcony running round it were beautiful. But the bed was only queen size and had only one duvet, though large: i.e. only for couples who prefer intimacy to comfort. And the sofa was not convertible. Guess how I slept!”
