This hotel is a beautiful place to stay, but be aware of wedding parties. The day we arrived, a lot of guests for a wedding arrived too. There was a red carpet and music and dancing and also drinks for them. In any hotel in India we have been welcomed with a drink, but this time the drinks were only...

When we came to Mandawa we didn't expect too much from accommodation since this is very small town. When we enter to Castle Mandawa we were just surprised that this is only 3 star hotel. Rooms were clean and spacious together with a huge bathroom. Food in the restaurant was tasty and nice, personnel very polite. Only cons is that...

This place was amazing for the atmosphere alone! the pool and the views you could get from any part of the hotel are well worth the stay! However since it is an older hotel be aware that there is no tv and no wifi in the rooms so bring a book or pre downloaded shows on a computer / iPad...

One night in a tour within the "Golden Triangle". Superb charming hotel. Good service; good food in the restaurant (buffet style). Nice, large room with confortable bed. Minus point: upgrading electricity cables and bathroom becomes necessary.

WOW. Amazing experience. Fun filled place (like in the movie Marigold hotel). An old castle converted into a hotel. We almost got lost through stairs trying to reach our room. Later we found the right way and it was not very far from the reception area and very close to dining place.. Rooms were huge, old style toilet / shower....

Our 2 night stay here was a wonderful experience. We had our own secluded turret from where we would have an evening drink and watch the sun setting over the town of Mandawa. However, it was a bit like Fawlty Towers cross Marigold Hotel; nothing quite worked as it should! The whole place is a bit run down and needs...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Like many historic homes, Castle Mandawa is a curious mixture of the old and the new. Medieval turreted towers, palanquin-roofed balconies, blend with modern comforts in old-world rooms. Family portraits, antique cannons and arms add to the charm of this family-run resort where tradition still runs strong. Today, the world comes to this storybook town to see its colourful frescoes on every subject under the sun, that is, ranging from the religious to the erotic; from copies of popular English prints to witty social satire, rendered in the inimitable style of the local artist. And perhaps the best place to discover the legacy of Shekhawati is from the comfort of Castle Mandawa, a fortress, now converted into a luxurious heritage hotel. Explore Castle Mandawa at your own pace. Spend a leisurely hour over a drink in the colonial verandah that accommodates the bar, or relax in the cosy comfort of the Diwankhana, the formal drawing room decorated with family portraits and an array of antique armour. ... more   less
