I loved this apartment. It was clean, spacious, comfortable and very homely. Includes all kitchen facilities, lounge area, air conditioning and great sea views. A very modern apartment. David and Gill who runs these apartments were very accommodating and were always ready and available to make my stay here pleasurable. I would recommend David and Gills Bayview Apartments to anyone who is seeking to holiday in this part of St Lucia.
This is the third time we have stayed at Gill and Davids place, White Cedar apartment, it is clean and comfortable, the view is really lovely looking out over Laborie Bay, the balcony is large and the perfect place to chill out anytime.
We stayed at the bay view apartments while we were in St Lucia for a fortnight. We saw all the apartments, which were spotlessly clean and beautifully maintained. Dave and Jill are lovely people and very welcoming. The view over the bay from the massive balcony was absolutely stunning and the beach is beautiful. Definitely going back next year! Lovely holiday.
The property we stayed at was very clean and fresh everything look new, beautiful view from the patio of the caribbean sea, beach and small marina. We could watch the small fishing boats going and coming back with the catch of the day Tropical trees and plants all around this property, lime, bread fruit, flowers and various other plants and trees. This property is well cared for inside and out. The owners were very kind an nice people, they would help you with anything you needed, I walk down to the fishing village almost every day, beautiful sandy beach, nice little marina, people are very nice their.
We had a wonderful time at our laid back apartment overlooking the small fishing village of Laborie in the south west corner of St Lucia. The apartment was perfect for me and my wife. The village is around 15-20 mins driving from the international airport in Vieux Fort and is well situated for short day trips to the small old colonial town of Soufriere, the impressive pitons and good snorkeling at beaches around Soufriere. The village itself is very friendly and has some interesting old wooden buildings and a nice beach. The 2 bedroom apartment was very clean and had all the amenities for self catering. The nice balcony overlooks the bay and village and is perfect for breakfast and an aperitif in the evening. We purchased fresh fish (tuna, barricuda, mahi mahi) nearly every day from the village port below. For other nights we ate at the excellent Mama Tilly's in Laborie. There is also a superb (and pricey) restaurant around 30 mins drive away called Dasheene at Ladera resort that has good food and impressive views of the pitons . We rented a car for visiting other parts of the island and recommend this for others. Dave and Gill were great hosts and helped us with airport & rental car pickup, directions and recommendations etc. We highly recommend this property for other holidaymakers…
Laborie is about as far away from the resorts around Rodney Bay in both distance and atmosphere as you can get. It's a friendly village where you wake up to the sound of the conch shell being blown when the fish is in. There aren't lines of restaurants serving cuisine from around the world, but who wants that when you can get the real St. Lucia deal in Laborie where the fun is visiting Ma Tilly, in her authentic local restaurant, and negotiating what she might cook for you the following day. Deliberating and debating with the locals in the rum shops over beer and rum punches is an experience beyond most Caribbean holidays. And the drinks are way cheaper than in the bland tourist resorts. Don't miss the Big Bamboo which is party central on Friday and Saturday. This comfortable apartment is at the edge of the village, up a steep hill, with a balcony overlooking the bay and some amazing sunsets. It's perfect if you enjoy shopping for local food and eating dinner whilst listening to the sound of people and animals going about their business- from the early morning cockerels and reggae music to the lulling sound of cicadas. Gill and Dave live in the adjoining house and made us very welcome. Gill was helpful advising us where to go and what to do. Dave helped us with lifts and arranged our car hire us which was great fun, although the Laborie beach is one that you could relax on (often with no other tourists in sight) day after day.…
We stayed for a week.Upon arrival were greeted by Dave an Jill, welcomed and shown around. We spent most of our time at the local beach and restaurants. The apartments were private from neighbours but not from owners upstairs. The apartment above garage was most private however No View. There is no safe in the apartments, which usually doesn't bother me however they come into your unit without asking, and when you are not there. And for no reason, they weren't cleaning up or anything because you rent the space as self-sufficient. Just being nosy.We had to share a towel, the second one was filthy. They told us we were not allowed to use the downstairs beds as we did not pay for them, however we rented the whole apartment! Every time we sat out on balcony we were being interrupted by them upstairs, joining in on conversation, or peering over the railing. Makes you feel like they are listening to everything, not the setting for romantic evening sunset or morning sunrise breakfasts.Their dogs are very friendly but bark at every noise they hear! At all hours of the night and day! Would not recommend to anyone or stay ever again.…
This was our second stay at the bay view apartments, white cedar apartment, Nov/Dec and as before the apartment was clean and well presented, Gill and David as usual were very friendly and helpful and gave us good advice on places to eat if you didn’t fancy cooking, although the kitchen has all necessary equipment for any meal you might wish to prepare. The apartment has ceiling fans which cool it nicely and the view from the balcony is priceless. We have no hesitation in recommending this location and apartment. Nicky & Tim
We spent 7 days in February 2013 with our little daughter in the apartment with the balcony. The apartment is well equipped, clean, has fans and mosquito netting across all windows and doors. From the balcony is a fantastic view over the bay of Laborie. The owners Gill and David, who live also in the house, are very hospitable and helpful and gave us al lot of tips, what to do, to see and to respect in and around Laborie. The transfer from and to the Airport they do without an extra charge. Before we arrived, Gill asked via e-mail, which food she can buy for us for the first day. Laborie itself is not touristic, the people are very friendly and in the village you can buy basic food items in a small supermarket. The beach for swimming is on the other side of the bay, approximately 10 minutes by foot. We can recommend this accomodation.…
We stayed at Bay View Apartments April 2012 for 2 weeks to celebrate my sisters 50th wedding anniversary. Gill and David made us feel very welcome and couldn’t do enough for us, very knowlegable and gave us lots of tips what to do and see in St Lucia. Hubby and I stayed in the smaller apartment which was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, supplied with everything you need. It didn’t have a balcony but it had a small secluded garden to the rear – with a welcome shade on a hot afternoon. My sister and hubby had the larger apartment with the balcony –WOW what a stunning view over Laborie and ideal to watch the fab sunsets. Again spotless and with everything you need for self-catering. Both apartments have ceiling fans. Laborie is a small idyllic fishing village with a lovely beach and really friendly people going about their daily lives. Not at all touristy.Tillys is a must , she is so welcoming and serves fab traditional food. Also enjoyed our trips to The Reef in Vieuxfort which provides good bar snacks and cocktails. It was the most relaxing holiday we have been on. Had a wonderful time. Thanks again Gill and David…
