Very enjoyable, relaxing stay which was enhanced by Trish's excellent cooking, John's fillet was superb as well... :) Accommodation definitely not pretentious, but clean and comfortable; Clarens itself a 30km drive from the Rose House but scenic drive and not overly onerous, also nice to be slightly out of town but beware if you want to 'party'. Well worth a...

Trish and John are warm and hospitable hosts - their accommodation is spotlessly clean, comfortable, spacious and well equipped for the cooler weather that their region of the Free State enjoys - our very private garden suite had a fireplace in the lounge, a panel heater in the bedroom as well as a heater in the bathroom, and an electric...

We had a super 2 night stay with a group of friends, very comfortable and well kitted self catering cottage with everything we needed. Enjoyed exploring the farm, savouring the gourmet meal Trish and John cooked and sipping on the superb wine from their vineyards. enjoyed starry nights and gorgeous views, sunsets and walks too. We were generously and pleasantly...

The rooms were outstanding with a fireplace for those cold winter nights. The food was worth it in the restaurant although the wine was over-priced. The owners were helpful and seemed eager to please.

I was surprised at the beautiful surroundings so picturesque. The room was lovely and warm, with electric blanket on the bed. The view from the room was really nice. A freshly prepared and tasteful 2 course dinner, followed by a good breakfast the following morning. Exceptionally quite and peaceful, perfect. The staff at the Rose Hip Resturant was very welcoming,...

Just +-25Km from Clarens, The Rose House is comfortably away from the hustle and bussle of Clarens but close enough for a day trip. Lovely walks around the farm, and great cottages with private varandas that look onto grape Vines and the mountains. Fire place and electric blankets in the cottage for cold nights - when we went. Owners John...

We're on our way to Sani Pass and decided to do it the other way around, i.e start at Caledonspoort and exit on Sani Pass. Not wanting to stay in a town, we found this charming place. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Was an amazing experience to look up at the night sky and see millions of stars overhead! Anyone...

My wife and I spent eight glorious nights at the Rose House with family and friends who were in Fouriesberg to attend a wedding. The location is absolutely breathtaking! All of the accommodation at the property was set in the refurbished sandstone cabins which were both warm and rustic and very comfortable for our lengthy stay. The staff but particularly...

The love we have for The Rose House and John and Trish is insurmountable. The impact their establishment made on our spiritual well being was incredible. We spent 2 Nights in one of their cottages and from the word go we were pleasantly surprised. Driving up the driveway we were met with a big sign with a beautiful hand painted...
