Our tour company booked us at Gamirasu, and we absolutely loved it. Our room was gigantic, with a large living room and separate bedroom, plus a standalone jacuzzi shower unit in the bedroom, each their own cave room. The entire place was decorated with beautiful Turkish carpets and artifacts, plus embroidered sheets and one of the most comfortable beds we...

Like many others, we stayed here because we were on a Euphrates tour, but you must consider this hotel even if you're on your own. It was hands-down the most incredible hotel of our two weeks spent in Turkey (although to be fair, we'd been staying in hotels in the EU100-120 range and Gamirasu was around EU160). The character of...

This hotel went above and beyond my expectations. The location was remote but that was exactly what I was looking for. My boyfriend and I had a very relaxing time at the Gamirasu Cave Hotel. They gave us a nice warm greeting when we arrived and offered us a drink while our room was prepared. They upgraded our room to...

Gamirasu is a lovely hotel located in a small village (Ayvali Village), which is a 10 minute drive from one of the two main Cappadocian towns - Urgup. Gamirasu is a great jumping off point to tour anything in Cappadocia (it is a fairly small area and very accessible by car). In Ayvali Village, you will have the opportunity to...

I booked my Cappadocia trip through Euphrates Tours and Garamisu Cave Hotel was the assigned hotel. The main reason I booked the trip with Euphrates was this hotel, I fell in love with this hotel by just looking at the photos in their website. After staying there for 2 nights, I must say that the experience was fantastic for a...

The best in Kopadokya came in the form of Gamirasu Cave Hotel. It was unparalled in splendour, uniqueness, warmth of the people managing, and the special surprises they gave us. The breakfast was a feast: I counted 60items, including two hot dishes and eggs to order ,after which I gave up, each as tasty as the other. They served 2 kinds...

I have just returned to new york from a wonderful trip to Cappadocia, Turkey.I went to see the caves and fairy chimneys. It was a real education in volcano's and what the people who lived there for centuries did with them. My first impression was that my plane made a wrong turn and ended up on the moon. They gave...

We stayed two nights at the Gamirasu Cave Hotel and we will never forget it. Found it on tripadvisor and started an email correspondence with Hilal at the hotel. She was incredibly kind and helpful throughout and when we finally met her at the hotel it felt like meeting an old friend. Truly an extraordinary, kind, generous, warm, and loving...

I was traveling through Turkey for 3 weeks, and I found out about Gamirasu through an e-mail newsletter I get called Urban Daddy Jetset. This was one of the most unique hotels I have EVER stayed at. While Gamirasu is not located right at Urgup, it was worth the trek. We got there after a long day and we're greeted with warm, personal hospitality that's uncommon in North America. The manager Hamide offered us a drink (Cappadocian red wine) and gave us an intro to the hotel. She even offered us a free upgrade to the garden...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Gamirasu is the name of an exquisitely restored 35 rooms troglodyte cave house opened in 1998, in Ayvali Village near Urgup in the heart of Cappadocia, Turkey. The hotel is located in a restored thousand-year-old Byzantine monastic retreat which offers modern conveniences without distracting from the spiritual feeling of the area which has been known to be inhabited for more than five thousand years. Gamirasu cave Hotel is featured in major international travel guides as one of the best cave hotels of Cappadocia. Recently Business Insider choose '' 50 incredible hotels you should sleep in during your lifetime '' It is also mentioned as a romantic escape for honeymoons in wedding magazines. A 12th century Byzantine Christian church forms part of the Gamirasu, and until recently, part of the hotel was still used by Christian monks. Much care has been taken to blend the historic facades with the natural curves of the Cappadocian landscape to preserve its traditional style and appearance whilst providing you with the utmost in modern conveniences. The finish is stylish and the atmosphere inviting and romantic. Indeed, it is the perfect honeymoon destination, with many couples choosing the intimate cave suites for access to some of the most breathtaking and unforgettable scenery in the world. The sense of tranquility and authentic village atmosphere around the Gamirasu is instantly soothing, with nothing to disturb you but the sound of birds and sumptuous aromas drifting across the warm air from the old Monastic kitchen. Breakfast consists of all local and organically grown produce, including freshly baked bread, clotted cream, honeycomb and fresh fruit. A 7km hiking trail departs from the front door of the hotel and follows a remote valley with a beautiful brook flowing down the middle. In every direction, you are surrounded by breathtaking views, extraordinary natural shapes and a myriad of cave-dwellings to explore.
