I booked this Onsen hotel about 8 months before we arrived and the only room I could get was the private onsen suite. It was a bit pricey but we wanted to stay in Fujikawaguchiko. It was so worth it!! The room was beautiful, the service excellent and the staff fantastic!! The high point was, since we went in November and...

We had the executive suite with the private onsen and the room and the garden and the onsen are beyond amazing. The truly Japanese style accommodation with your own onsen to go into anytime. It was great and the breakfast was so authentic and amazing. It was my accommodation highlight in Japan.

Arriving at Kawaguchiko station after a painless 90 minute train ride from Tokyo we were expecting to be taken back in history to a small historic town in the foothills of Mount Fuji. Non of it. This is a bustling non descript tourist resort sitting on a lovely lake with a massive amusement park 10 minutes down the road. Mount...

Went to this place with my wife and I would said the place is fantastic and same goes with the service. We have reserved the dinner and breakfast and the food taste fantastic. The room facilities come with private onsen and bathroom facilities is the best I have come across. Would go back again.

Had a wonderful 3 night stay in the presidential suite. The staff and service was excellent. The meals were beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. With the autumn weather surprising us with a bout of unseasonal snow fall, the onsen was a wonderful relaxing treat after the cold day. We could just see the top of Mt Fuji through some trees...

Everytime I fly to Japan I ask my friend to go to Yamanashi to enjoy the real Japan, its feeling, spirit, peace of mind and, at the same time, besides the soul, to make also the body happy with the hot springs and the food. Not far from Tokyo, a couple of hours by car, it is a very good...

Pre-trip After making a room booking indicating non-smoking room, the next day the ryokan sent me email via booking.com to inform that they don't have non-smoking room. I appreciated their notification. Being a non-smoker sensitive to smoking smell, I was anxious that if the room reeked of smoke, it would be a terrible stay. The ryokan promised that they would...

The things I most loved here are private onsen for people not familiar with public bathing and they also mix modern western bathroom utensils and technology which blends smoothly to its Japanese design.

Back from Mt Fuji climb this was perfect respite to lick our wounds. Onsen, massage and haven of tranquility. Location next to lake would improve it and food especially turret shell was hard work but fabulous place

Our experience in this Ryokan was completely spoilt by the lack of skills of the team there. We paid a fortune for a presidential suite for 2 adults+2children. They made us pay for the 2 children on top of the price of the room. So beware of that. We decided to try the "authentic "dinner which costs 16 000 yen...
