I'll preface this review by stating that we stayed in the business double room with no meals. We balled pretty hard in Hakone and Koyasan staying in the Japanese-style tatami mat rooms with kaiseki dinner included, and honestly didn't even plan on staying at an onsen in Kawaguchiko. We paid about $150 for a Western-style double room with no meals...

Everything was perfect during my stay at Oike Hotel: 1- Location: just a 3min walk to the lake border in a quiet quarter; 2-Building: quite new and easy access from Kawaguchiko station by car/taxi (1,5 Km). Trains and buses coming and going from Tokyo (1,5 or 2 h trip) Lots of facilities: restaurant, spa, free machine massage, souvenir shop and...

I will start this review by saying that this hotel is not really posh, or modern, but where it lacks in those areas it makes up for in others. the rooms are comfortable and lovely, complete with a magnificent view of Mount Fuji. The onsen are beautiful, a truly relaxing experience. the upstairs onsen has a spectacular view and the...

Ryokan style hotel just 10 minutes from the train station. The hotel is a Japanese style with the rooms having futon beds. Although on the floor very comfy but a bit difficult to get up. Larger room with very good furnishings all in the traditional style, with a low tables and you sit on the floor to drink your free...

Good clean traditional Japanese hotel. Staff are extremely helpful and most of them have basic command of English. Stayed in this hotel during cycling trip and have no hesitation to come back here. Just beside Kawaguchiko lake. Main plus point is staff. Dinner was not 100% top notch based on Japanese standard.

We have travelled to different parts of Japan and enjoyed stays at ryokans from Kyoto and Hakone's famous ryokans to small ryokans and always enjoyed them. This hotel is very ordinary, somewhat dismal. Unimpressive food and basic service. I'm here only because I forgot to cancel on time through the online booking website and managed to cancel other hotels. The...

we booked a room with breakfast & dinner meal. the room was big. the bathroom has big window facing to mount Fuji. the onsen area is located on the first floor (outdoor & indoor). and we are able to bath until 11pm. however.... the price was a bit too pricey. we paid 75k yen for a night.

On our long honey moon break we decided to visit Fuji and hotel oike was the most affordable but you get a lot of value as the rooms are clean and well presented along with breakfast which is a dream for anybody wanting to experience a proper Japanese breakfast. The staff are super friendly and polite. The hotel has a...
