One of the best times I've ever had . Spent 3 weeks my first trip and a week on my next one. Ryan and Val are more then accommodating . They treat everyone like friends / family. They helped me get in touch with people for outings . Gave many tips and pointers for getting around and the places to...

I came here for lunch twice during my stay in Las penitas. The food is good (burgers / Mexican), the service better. Great little place to grab a bite, a beer and shoot the breeze with the owner. A solid choice.

Back to the lazy turtle for another awesome stay with Val and Ryan...perfect breeze looking onto the Bay with the best food and atmosphere... If you want something relaxing away from the partying but still want some friendly socializing, this is it, loved my time again and will return, thanks for making me feel completely at home in an unfamiliar...

If your looking for food I cannot recommend this place more. If you want an open friendly bar with great conversation, hosts and music there is nowhere to compare. So good we came back 3 times, our home from home. Will be sad to leave.

We had plans of staying 3 nights, stayed 1. Bottom line, the live in host "Ryan" appeared to have issues with the amount of alcohol he consumed. Us and other guests who had been there much longer than us were inundated with Ryans verbal ramblings about his sad personal life all seemingly fueled by the constant consumption of beer and...

Thanks for review. I realized my problem and have since sobered up. But put me to bed? I promise that never happened. I would have gone for my normal nap. Sad personal life? hmmm, not sure about that one either. Any way, sorry to have offended you. Thanks again. R

The food is good, rooms are clean, and the drinks are cold; I would recommend the lazy turtle. Val went out of her way to introduce us to the people we needed to talk to for fishing and day trips. Val and Ryan were accommodating to our late check out. The only negative is the heat in northern Nicaragua and...

We had a really good time at Lazy Turtle, and it's a really good option in Las Penitas. The Rooms are spacious, cool and comfortable with a good mattress (really important!!). The view on the bay is gorgeous. The food is also very tasty with a selection of burgers and nachos, perfect for a good lunch. I will finish with...

I have stayed there a few times over the years and I will go back. It's the best place in Las Penitas. It's not only the hotel, it's the people who run in. Your not just a guest you a friend and a part of the family. They will do anything for you. Don't go for a night, stay for...

We spent 3 nights (initially only booked 2) with Val and Ryan at the Lazy Turtle and loved every minute. The beds are super comfy all the staff are really friendly and the atmosphere makes you feel at home. I would recommend the Veggie burger as well. Best I have ever had. Great place to chill and enjoy the amazing...

We stayed for 2 nights at the Lazy Turtle, in fact, 2nd night was spent in a lodge in the Isla Juan Venado, best decision ever. The place itself is okay. The common area/restaurant is a good place to chill and relax. Rooms are very basic, which is fine, unless for the shower. Pressure of the shower is really, non-existant....

Thanks for taking the time to review us. We have fixed our water pressure issue, as you mentioned, we had a water pump breakdown and had it fixed as soon as we could ( about 2 days ) . I`m sorry you did not enjoy your stay. As far as planning, I would have helped you plan anything you would...
