ON highway 44 towards Rennie, Manitoba. Saw a grey wolf. He/she was on the roadside enjoying a "road kill". Stopped naturally. Road up from Rennie, through lakes and cottages on a very bad paved (?) road. Highway 307. Beautiful Autumnal drive though! Excellent colours! Re-paving taking place in spots.
Cabin number 10, on first view, was in need of work to exterior. Interior up dated. Two bedrooms, bath and a open plan dining, kitchen and Living area. Perfect for 2-4 adults or 2 adults and children. Newer tile in kitchen and bath, rest carpeted. No view of lake. Screen room which is quite small over looking back yard with picnic table and firepit. View is bush and small lawn area. Parking plenty of. Gravel. Small deck with BBQ/grill. Kitchen has fridge, stove, large microwave (above stove) and usual amenities. Built for giants though, as I am 5'3". Lake side has beach, children's playground should you care to experience those amenities. The Rainbow Falls is a short distance from the area. Though under construction: a restaurant will be available as well as a well-stocked store. A red fox came through my area at cabin 10. I was delighted to see him/her.! due to "no see um's" I did not venture out much for walks. Be advised if Autumn is your thing. Okay place open Winter as well. Friendly and helpful hosts. However; I shall look further afield in future as my needs are more particular.

I have stayed at this resort as a teen and now I go back as an adult with my wife and kids.
I cannot tell you in words how fabulous this resort is. The cabin we stay in is old and rustic just the way we like it. They have newer cabins as well.
The resort is clean, quiet and the water is the color of coke cola but it's clean and cold. Dave and stephanie the owners are amazing ppl that live on premises and they also cook the fabulous and generous portions of food available in the restaurant.
I highly recommend this place if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the other large lakes. The trails and waterfalls are truly magnificent.
Tell'em Dave in cabin 1 sent you. It might sweeten the deal. Lol.

If you are in the area this is a good place to stop. Meals offered are fairly simple but well made and tasty. Fries are homemade shoestring. Gravy is good too, which is not always the case at restaurants.

I have been to the restaurant at the resort many times and enjoy it very much. They definitely could have some more vegetation options but other than that they are open pretty much every day and the food is very good. If you are in the Whiteshell, the restaurant is worth the drive.

We stayed in one of the cabins for the first time and it wasn't all that great. Rustic wasn't the word for it. The floor had holes and it looked like pretty much anything could come in there. In all fairness I was told at the time of booking that it was very rustic. If I go back, I will definitely stay in a more modern cabin.

They are very strict on a 4:00 check in which is a bit odd because most resorts in the Whiteshell always have room ready prior to 4 and have no problem checking you in.

My only other issue was the sheets felt very gritty and I sincerely hope they had been changed before our arrival. I never mentioned this to staff and perhaps I should have.

White Lake is a very nice area and if you stay, I recommend renting a more modern cabin. I don't mind rustic at all, but don't particularly like holes in floors. All in all, a decent stay.

We rented cabin #11, it was very comfortable for the 7 of us, and had all the amenities we could need. We also rented the pontoon boat for 2 days which was nice. The owners are super friendly and accommodating. I recommend going, but book early to get best choice of cabins.

Other dishes were the shrimp perogies served plain and had to ask for sour cream .

We enjoyed a lunch of a taco salad, a taco wrap, and rissois (shrimp-filled perogies), and homemade mushroom soup. The food was very tasty and the servers were friendly. We enjoyed the outdoor patio which allowed us a view of the lake while we ate.

A family run store/restaurant within Whiteshell provincial park. We found the food good and very conducive to family. Very friendly staff and really quite helpful. Very handy to have as an alternative on a rainy day. Our son loved that they had a colouring book while we waited for a very unique pizza.
