We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Castor. It's a quirky, comfortable and very hospitable establishment with spacious bedrooms and a great ambience. The only downside was evening meal which was a bit hit and miss, although the salad bar made up for the occasional dubious main course. Breakfast was excellent and all the staff are friendly and helpful. We...

Ciao Susie Really pleased to know you and your friends all enjoyed your stay with us. It was a pleasure to have your company for a week here at our Hotel Castor. Hopefully we'll see you all again in the not too distant future! We'll pass on your kind words to Ruben at Telemark Ski Set.

Part of the group from the previous review. I had an absolutely fantastic time despite, as it turned out, being rubbish at skiing. Just wanted to add that my husband back in the UK had forgotten valentine's day so contacted the hotel to help as local confectioner didn't speak enough English. On our table that evening was a lovely gift...

We had a brilliant holiday, taking our children skiing for the first time. The hotel is extremely clean, comfortable and welcoming, traditional and relaxing, and the staff were terrific with our children who varied in age between 11 and 16. It has everything you need to enjoy a skiing holiday - warmth, comfort, good food and brilliant service. When he...

Ciao Sally Really glad to know that you and your family enjoyed your stay with us. True, there's not much snow in flat old Cambridge nowadays so it's very important for us that our guests are able to get the most out their ski-passes!... and you all certainly managed that!... everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy their day's skiing and were...

We spent one day here while Hiking the Tour of Monte Rosa. The hotel is a beautiful old hotel run by an Englishman and his Italian wife. It was off season so we had the entire hotel to our selves. We didn't want the owner to have to put out the breakfast buffet for just the two of us but...

So, after 15 years ski-ing in the French Alps, friends invited us to Champoluc for a weeks ski-ing staying at the Hotel Castor. This family run hotel has a few quirks but is very homely and friendly and Herman and Beatrice, the husband and wife owners, their friendly dogs and team can't do enough for their guests. They gave us...

Ciao Doc Ellis It was great to welcome you to our Hotel Castor. Whilst your friends have been many times and are almost part of our family here, it's lovely to hear the opinion of a first timer here to Champoluc. To be described as a "house party" is just how we'd like people to feel whilst they are on...

What a gem this place is: A lovely hotel that is spacious and comfortable and yet old fashioned and quirky. Amazing staff... all helpful, cheerful and eager to please. Food is fantastic, with a lovely varied dinner menu, and...

We stayed at the Hotel Castor in December 2016. The service was superb. The owner, Herman, even drove one of our family to the doctors, translated and drove us to the pharmacy to help us out. The food was very good and there is a cosy bar with a fun music night once a week. Rooms were clean and comfortable...

 of 5 bubbles JoK248, 17 Dec 2014 | Read review
“Higher floors will give you a better outlook and not all rooms have balconies. Rooms above the restaurant offer the best views. Champoluc is a quiet village with limited après attractions so bring your own! If you don't like "rustic" accommodation then look elsewhere but you can't fault the service here and everything works? The hotel is a 10min walk to the gondola but get out early to catch the 0840 bus which will take you there or further up the valley to the Frachey funicular. Hate to share but the best restaurant on the hill is on run C3 just off Ostafa, excellent food and service and away from the crowds as not on a main route.”
